What I wanted to create in this tomahawk was a very light weight tool that would take care of not only my chopping needs in bushcraft settings but something that could be used as a hammer for driving tent stakes and the like. The weight of this hawk measured at just less than 1 pound on my scale making it great for the long backpack trips where overall weight is a concern. While I made this tomahawk for my own use I have also made many other knives for myself and like most knife makers after I have them I decide to sell instead of keep which is why this one is up for sale. I did take this on one trip and it performed very well for its size. There are two handles for this hawk; one is a curly maple presentation handle and the other is made of fire hardened ash that is used when throwing the hawk and for heavy chores. The ashes handle as a few dings near the end and I’ve tried to show these in one of the photos. This tomahawk also comes with a leather sheath for the edge and a carry loop as shown the photos.
