Here is a little birthday present for a friends father. His wife threw away his favorite knife a few years ago and this is going to be the replacement.
Stats are;

10.75" 1095 blade in the french style.
Monel guard with copper spacer
Black dyed and stabilized fiddleback maple handle
Mosaic pin
OAL 16"

Unfortunately the reason she threw it away never came up. I think it is a really sore subject. If I find out I will let you all know.

Beutiful, how's the monel to work? Never tried it before and from what I've heard it's a pain to grind and drill, ect.

Love the dyed maple, and the overall shape just begs to be used.

Thanks all. The monel I have is not bad to work. In fact it is just a bit harder than brass. There are several different grades. The material I have i believe is 60% nickel 40% copper. I have used 90% nickel and 10% copper and it is a real pain. Right up there with 304. The material I have was used as stirring blades on a sorbet maker. The ice cream co. I got them from had me make some new blades out of UHMW. They hold up almost as well but were only $200 a set of 3 vs $2500 for the monel.

The other thing about the monel I have is it is in very limited supply. The material I have is all I will ever have since they stopped using it. I cannot justify purchasing it as it is about 3x 416. I will just transition fully to the 416 once this is exhausted. I do however make use of every ounce of the material I can. I even go so far as splitting this material to make thinner stacked guards rather than mill it down as I used to. I also cut as close to finished size as possible. I have learned to make the most of it now that I cannot get any more.
