So I was playing with my BS while I was doing my chem homework.

I flicked it opened pretty hard once, and made the lock engage far right. I notice a tiny bit of up/down play if the lock doesn't engage as far when I open it. So, the titanium liner wore down a just a tiny bit, presumably. And I've been opening/closing this thing all night, making it smooth.

But I was thinking. What if the stop bar was oval shaped? And then you could loosen the screw and rotate the stop bar further back or forward to adjust for the lock. If it was like that, then up/down play would never be an issue.

Would that work?

Yes and no.
The problem is that unless you had a way to index the turning of the oval, it would turn by itself and loosen after opening you knife a few times.

So to follow that train of thought something like tiny interlocking index notches on the liner and stop pin? If something like that were to be designed then the question would becomes how to adjust it without taking apart the folder each time. Hmmmm.......
