A little advise on knife shape please.

I'm still new at this and I'm taking on making a wedding cake knife for my nephew. The handle shape is how I wanted it, it's the angled part in front of the handle that I'm not liking. The line on the knife is where the 5 inch scales will be. Do you think I should leave as is in the first pic or round it off like I have it shaded in the second? Or any other ideas?

Thanks,
Shayn

The angled part was going to be a concave curve, but I didn't like it and it ended up flat.

Another question. Since this will only be used once would it be ok to only use epoxy to hold the scales on? I would drill some holes in the blade handle and the back side of the scales.

or hidden pins. Epoxy bonds are weakest in shearing. Pins stop that lateral movement and make the whole construction stronger.

Don't forget to drill the tang holes for the rivets before HT :D

Also, curve the front of the handle scales a tiny bit. A straight line there looks a bit stiff. I would not only curve it, but also angle it back about 15-20°, with the spine being the forward most part.

Yes. Rounded looks much better. Stacy is right. A slight curve to the forward edge of the handle will be more pleasing to the eye. Your nephew will be very proud to own it!
