A little better look at Terry Sisco's leg. Pix & safety reminder.

BERK: Thank you very much for the info on the portrait of the formidable Gurkha.
TERRY: Thanks. I've got a lot more respect now for the sarkis who so neatly fashion the scabbards! And my newest decision is to discard the leather I've purchased for the cover, and look anew for the correct thickness (read "thinness")!
MAUIROB: So true! A guy once loosely proclaimed that the best weapon for home defense is a twelve guage loaded with buckshot. I've seen what a load of buckshot from a 12-guage does to a person, so I'll stick to my .38 Special revolver loaded with lead wadcutter bullets.

That was my revenge for what Terry's villager has done with my finger...
It does not have to be a khukuri to get you, though:
Long ago, I dropped a knife on the floor while getting into my uncle's house - the knife was his - nad it fell handle down and bounced, making a hole on the back of my leg, right below the knee. I did not realized what had happened until my aund noticed the floor filled with blood. Another scar from my collection... a couple months ago I was finishing a Kiridashi and forgot that it was sharpened already, pressing hard the cloth against the edge with my finger. Guess what happened... in another ocasion, I was using my swiss army knife to eat sashimi at a friend's house and made a nasty cut on my lips... now, except for Terry's nasty villager, khukuris have been good to me.

In the 5/99 edition of Tactical Knives, page 46 shows Steven Dick holding the Junglee Military Bolo and also wearing a pair of orange kevlar saw chaps.

At first that picture made my skin crawl, but then I got it. Maybe Terry can fool the rest of you, but I didn't fall off the melon truck yesterday. That's obviously a photo of a homemade football, not a leg injury. Although in light of Terry's tremendous scabbard and handle craftsmanship, I'm a little surprised at how rough those pigskin laces turned out.

I've been itching to ask who did the stitches (no pun intended). Obviously not Sandi's work - not neat enough.
