A little bit of Africa for you .....

Enjoyed the post and pictures, especially the one with the Land Rover and sunset!
Thanks for the glimpse into such a wonderful landscape!

Man! Those are some amazing pics!

Now I really want to travel to South Africa.

Congrats to your and your boys for what looks like an amazing trip!

Great pictures! I always enjoy seeing other parts of the world.

man what a awesome trip. to see so many different environments in one trip is great. thanks for taking the time to share sir

Some awesome photos here, it's like a mini vacation just reading the thread. Thanks for sharing!

Great pics !!! Good stuff !!! Love the Def-90. Wish we could get the 110 Countryman 5 door here w/diesel. I have a 2008 Dodge Power Wagon. Been trying to make it trail worthy as well. Also wish someone in the USA made some better off-road trailers like you have. I feel the Adventure Trailers are overpriced & underbuilt.

Gents ...will take some more images ..... when work slows down a little but some more for now .....

Had a few questions on the trailer ...... made in SA by Venter trailers and called a Bushbaby. Unbraked axle with max carrying of 1500lbs. You can see the stove/kitchen box open on the side .....under the rooftop tent is a 50l (12.5 gal) water tank with a tap just to the left and above the Engel fridge/freezer that is on metal slide for easy access. BTW, the rooftop tent has a matress inside so from parking to sleeping is 5 minutes.

I have a 102 Ah deep cycle Delkor battery installed that can charge via Landy when travelling, in the nose cone, via 220V when available and via a 85W Shell solar panel when static for some time. Any other questions ....shoot!

We brought all our own wood and charcoal in as little is available there and will destroy the harsh but fragile eco system. The black bag ...all trash that comes in, also comes out with us. We did do a general cleanup as well on the surrounding desert ....some over landers just have no pride in their country!

If you look closely in the nose cone and specifically the underside of the lid .... a large silky saw and medium Fiskars axe.

I love your rig! The Defenders are just old school so hammeered for being slow, noisy, uncomfortable and out dated but I love them. I will get some detailed photo's on the overland trailer up so more info on that coming ...

Using the Fehrman to make some tinder ...... I used a warthog tusk for a handle on a 1/2 inch fire steel.

Just a little bit on the trailer .... its a Venter Bush Baby and unbraked axle. GWM is 750 KG or about 1500lbs.

Spot chosen and 90 reversed in. First step after choosing site is to lay out ground covers.
