A Little Busse History . . . 1974

You conveniently left out the part where you had to go inside and change your underpants Boss. Always classy

Cool - Knives with scales from that tree would be like Liberty Tree Knives -

Awesome -

Himmmm Jerry does few things off hand - perhaps there is a secret message in all of this .... Somewhere.....

He is first and foremost the clever fellow .. Always ... Himmmm;)

Cool old pic.

My da talks about his old tractors and growing up on the farm.

Great pic, and I'm sure great memories.

IFM= infi field mouse

Mmmm. Maybe, just maybe. A diminutive knife would mean less wood needed per handle.....more of us could get a knife. That would go hand in hand with the MBC thread. Use the wood as handle material for a new batch of MBC.

Himmmm.. Oh that Jerry is clever - just another little random story ... noooo I think not :)

Jerry, Excellent story Bro! That story is a classic, us 1959 folks grew up in some of the best of times, wish we could go back in time. Would not trade the years we grew up in for nothing!
Had a very good friend to get killed on that exact tractor with a bush hog attachment, his wife rung the bell for supper and he gunned it on a
pond bank in a turn, the rest is history!

Lookin forward to them Maple scales, I know you can make them purty!

Oh-oh

I am two years older than The Boss! Why, in my day we used horses and they pulled the plow.... and we liked it!

Whats with theses dangerous new fangled "tractor" motor things?

:)

I am eight years older than Jerry. What is this "plow" device that you speak of?...;-)

Awesome history! Can't wait to see what blades are worthy of receiving Busse grown maple scales.

Now those are gonna be keepers!

Love to share the history with the Busse clan! Amazing how far back it goes! And I am such a newbie I think I still leave green on the handles of all the awesome Busse blades I have already accumulated!

Thanks for sharing Jerry!

I think a 21yr single malt is in order for just such a look back on history!

Put me down for something huge with the Busse Maple!

1974, I was 20 years old and had just enlisted in the Air Force! 20 years later (well actually 20 years, 1 month and 16 days, but who's counting anyway) I retired form the Air Force and started my 2nd career, Law Enforcement. Been doin this now for 21 years, with three years as a road officer. But that's for the younger kids now days. All I ride now is the air waves as a dispatcher.

aka SkunkHunter in the Yard.

Kids!............................................................................:D..................:p

The best part is the Boss's stories usually end in some Sweet Feed for 'da HOGS!!!!

Since Valentines Day is over.....Anyone else still waiting to see Jerry's wood?

Wait what? How'd I get here.
