So, I was looking around the shop and found a billet of mosaic I had sitting around and got to thinking about possibly selling some damascus to fund some shop projects. Would people be interested in say bolster material that looked like this?

It's about 1 1/4" square. No price set yet, or even being discussed. If I get to the point of deciding to sell, I'll do so properly in the "for sale" section. I'm just trying to gauge interest...

P.S. The finish and etch on this are very quick, it'll clean up even better....

Nah, no interest, just send me the billet. Hell, I'll give ya $10 for the shipping to boot!!! :D Just kidding, heck yes I'd be interested. That's a nice looking pattern!

This billet is 1084/15n20. I'll start working on getting some bolsters cut and cleaned up for sale ;)

Another question for you guys...

If I was also doing barstock, what sizes would folks like to see?

1 1/4", maybe 1 1/2", not smaller than 1" with the edges clean. Since I'm a filthy grit eater, generally 1/8" ground clean, no more than 3/16" rough ground. :D

Hi Deker
One thing to keep in mind on the bolsters is that people don't always use them in the square shape you have there. It's a great looking piece, but if you rounded it here and there and maybe cut in for a finger groove, you would lose the appearance of the pattern. That is where the more abstract patterns shine. Just something to chew on, not meant at all as criticism....

I myself like barstock 1-1/2" x 5/32". I genearally use ALL of the 1-1/2" for the shape of the handle and blade. I would be interested in barstock.
Nice stuff:thumbup:

Yeah, I had thought about that some which is why I was asking. This just happened to be laying around the shop, so.... ;)
