I like that old vise! Cool project for a maiden run of the hatchet.
That's my "outside" workshop Murph. I drilled and tapped the log and threaded a piece of hickory for the screw.

Trade, in all seriousness you've got quite the set-up there. I'm a Carpenter and for the life of me can't figure out what that is, although it looks very well built...
maybe its just my life of power tools, guess I'm lost without them in the tradesI sure would like to spend some time around a guy like you though and learn how my ancestors did it..:thumbup: now that I think about it I have, there's that guy at silverdollarcity I mentioned...
