Recommendation? A little help looking for perfect Ti EDC

Minimalist Ti framelock flipper with a Laconico touch leaves you with the:
- Kizer Laconico Intrepid
- Kizer Laconico Gemini
- Spyderco Mantra 1 & 2

Maybe you need the fancy one .

Yep^^ Been seeing those. I'd definately like one of the older models. Though the detailing on this one is nice.

Dang, I'm really liking each of those. The Intrepid, particularly. And Mantra is from the Taichung plant, which I favor. Quality out of there is impeccable. Thanks for narrowing down those Kizers. They both look fantastic. I'll see what my local shop has right now. Best selection in East Asia, I'd say. I betcha they might have a couple.

I don't know if these were mentioned in addition to the others mentioned through this thread:

ZT 0808
ZT 0450
Spyderco SpydieChef
You know, I have absolutely no experience with ZTs, but it seems like a lot of folks have positive things to say about them. The Spydie is also pretty highly rated, it seems.
I'm making up a list of the recommended blades and taking it to my local shop, which has a crazy good selection. I intend to handle as many as possible. Including some ZTs and several Spydercos. Thanks for the input, Scott.

Not reposting the picture, but as much as I love that slysz swayback design, it isn't anything you can buy yet. Though my wallet aches, and knows it is getting a pummeling when that knife drops.

Yeah mine will be taking that hit too. It's going to be OK.

I hadn't looked at alot of Kizer blades but I really liked the look of those two ... the Intrepid especially ... I leave a suggestion and read a thread ... next thing you know I have another tracking number ... DOHHHH ...o_O ... ummm errr thanks ? lol

Lots of good choices in this thread already, but here are some that I like.

The Boker Urban Trapper Petite is pretty minimalist, being real slim and weighing in at an ounce. A Brad Zinker design that's been around a bit. Bearing pivot, frame lock flipper with VG-10 steel. Here's a link...

I also like the Boker Mini Kwaiken. IKBS ball bearing flipper, it's a liner lock, but worth a look here...

And last there is this Kizer Splinter that I am trying REALLY hard not to buy, but will probably fail...

Yeah, I'm really liking the look of the Kwaiken. Sleek and slim and exactly what I like in scales. That Splinter though... Yeah, that might need to happen. The S35VN is always a good choice. Calls it a drop point but looks more like a wharnie to me, which is great because that's maybe my favorite style. And oh snap, it's Taiwan-made. Their Taichung machining centers are usually spot on. Every Spyderco from their is a winner all day long. Y'all are really coming up with some winners and kicking my bank account square in nutz.

Ferrum Forge/WE/Massdrop collaboration, The Ferrum Forge Crux. You have to keep an eye out for it on the secondary market. I picked one up a few weeks ago and it has quickly become one of my favorites.

I just remembered the Spyderco Sage 2. It's a kissing cousin to the knife in your picture and it is still available from the knife dealers.

Oh the Sage 2 is a given. I LOVE my Sage 5 and am stoked that the 2 is so widely available. It's definately on the list.

Wow. That is a great looking blade. Simple, elegant. I'll scope out MassDrop. Thanks a lot for that one. It just skipped the line and got WAY up on the list.

Two words: VIPER ODINO. I just got one and it is perfection. Mine is the full TI version with a satin blade. If you’re set on it being a flipper, the Viper Kyomi may be what you’re looking for. I’ve had a lot of full TI knives—including several Sebenzas, but the Viper is my favorite yet. Excellent price, too, if you look around.

Massdrop doesn't have it anymore but you can get it on the secondary with a little patience.
