A little more than a PSK.

Thanks for this thread. I have a few new ideas to put in my pack. I keep a few zip ties of various sizes in my kit too--can come in handy at times.

Looks like a nice kit. Aside from a few of the things mentioned to add, there isn't anything I can think of at the moment to add.

Crimson-
i ordered 15 from steve spangler science. they were cheaper than most places and i knew some buddies would want some so i got extra.

zipties are always handy. will add a few of those.

Looks good, I have the same type of folding utility blade in mine. Use it as my main striker on flint rod as the thin sharp edge throws a nice spark.

That fishing set in a tube is ingenious! But, at the risk of revealing my new-ness, what is a PSK? :D

that was the main reason for it. i like to use jigsaw blades for strikers as they are very hard and seem to work really well.

well i added the mini bic, para cord, zip ties, streamlight microstream and looks like an OD/G10 esee4 will be included.

As for flashlights input my vote for fenix.

They're cheap, really bright, ipx8 rated, and run off common batteries
I've got three of them and one is a little AAA battery edc light I got from Rei outlet for really cheap! But they make great lights and have a very long range. Same quality as a surefire for a fraction the cost.

i switch between a microstream and two fenix lights. the fenix lights are both 6 mode one is single 123 and the other is dual 123.

i like them all but in this case the microstream is 2x the output of the single aaa fenix, from what i read about them.

I've been carry a micro stream for a long while and for it's size & light output from a single AAA hard to beat ,I picked up 3 more a while back :D

TTD introduced me to the Microstream via his PSK pics. I’ve got a couple of them and god a Stylus Pro 2 AAA for Christmas to try. I really like the Stylus if you have room for the extra length. But I’m more and more becoming a big fan of the headlamp. I was never a fan, but now if there’s room in the kit, a headlamp is going in.

I keep a headlamp in my bag ,Petzl tikka II but I wear it around my neck so not to blind folks while talking to 'em :)

ill be looking into the headlamp for my bags. for this kit that would take up too much space. its pretty packed in there as it is. but i think i have some good stuff in there for him. once the last few items show up ill post the completed pic.
