Played around some with small pieces of kit today trying to decide whether I want to put the BK-11 or the BK-14 in my little kit that I'm putting together. I sometimes wear the BK-11 as a necker so I am thinking of maybe putting the BK-14 in the kit. Anyway the pics below are where I was playing around with the BK-14 and a nanostriker on a break today. I think they would make a great team, but I may switch up and put the BK-11 in the kit before its over...

I gotta get me a 14 pretty quick. And a nanostriker for that matter. The two of em would make a nice pocket pair. Thanks for the pics:thumbup:

The 14 is pretty awesome, it is pretty comfortable wrapped. I love the nanos, one goes everywhere I go.

mmm fire good.

tidy wrap!

Yep, fire is almost always good when you're outside all day and there is snow on the ground...

Thanks, I've had a little practice wrapping this particular handle shape :)

What is the name of that fire starter? Are they pretty good? Thanks from a Noob

Its called the exotac nano-striker, its pretty decent the firesteel is a little small and the striker sucks IMO.

I have the same one mistwalker has....

Here is my Eskabar.

What do you think is the best all around firesteel/striker combo out there. Best value too?

Thanks

Those nanostrikers look pretty nice. I only wish they made them a little larger.

Cool pics, btw. Thanks for sharing. :)

The ones the BECKERHEADS will have soon.......;)

It is a nanostriker made by Exotac Inc. I like them a lot, and I keep a Ti version on my key chain.

It is pretty nice, I wish it was alot bigger, do you like the striker?

Flexx, Are you the one spearheading that project? What do you have to do to get into to one of those?

Send all your BK knives to me ;)

all you have to do is be a BECKERHEAD....

Just noticed you live in Utah, what part?

Southern Utah, Near Zion.

I'm working on the Beckerhead thing. Can't wait to see your final project. I don't have any Becker knives to send you yet. I'm ordering a BK2 though.

I live in Norther Utah, about 20 miles from Eden City.

The BECHERHEAD project will cost but that will be discussed later during final production.

As soon as you get that BK2 just send it my way :D its damn sweet.

Dude, I've lived in Utah most of my life and I've never heard of Eden City! What the closest bigger city? Logan?

The striker for the nano takes a bit of getting used to and the lanyard helps it function a lot better than just trying to use the striker. Personally the nano is my favorite edc firesteel, but I still prefer the ESEE firesteel in the bush.

The reason I ask is because I was looking at the FireSteel.com GobSpark Armageddon FireSteel at 11 bucks. It seems like the best value out there. I was also toying with the idea of making some out of exotic woods with blank rods.

Just wondering what you think.

I use mine as a back-up, but its always on me.
The lanyard helps hold on to the striker.
