i recently ordered a knife from stomper and would just like to say that i would recommend him to anyone on here. every email i sent was answered promptly, his prices are extremely fair, and he will work with you to give you EXACTLY what you want. to me, this is top notch. i know that he recently had some troubles with another member which makes me just want to say one thing to whomever screwed him over, "karma's a b@#$%." seriously john, it's been a pleasure. can't wait for the pics of the new blade.

John is definitely a class act and a pleasure to deal with all around. He puts out some very quality field blades.

Great to hear! He always comes across as a quality guy to me.

Having 2 (so far) of John's knives, I can attest to his quality control and his customer service. His prices are too amazing for words! If you don't buy a knife from him you are missing out. This man makes knives to fit your budget and they are tools that work. What else is there?

John is the man. Great dude, and a very talented maker. I have had alot of dealings with him, and am proud to call him a friend.

Thanks guys! Reading these comments really cheered me up. This is always a tough time of year for me, my mom died on Christmas Eve when I was 15, so I usually get a bit down. I really appreciate it, and hope to be making knives for you guys for many more years.

I am not a fan of Stomper's deisgns - but that is merely a matter of preference not utility. He is consistent - provides updates, has happy customers - and that is what matters in a designer/maker.

AND - I am sure if I had only a Stomper knife in the bush when the SHTF - I know I could bet my life on it - that is what REALLY matters in a knife.

He was awesome when I talked to him too! I'm not sure how he could get on someones bad side.
Maybe in another month I will actually order from him for my birthday and not just chew his ear about getting a knife!!! :o

Sorry to hear that John.....My family wishes you a merry christmas. In particular me and my 10 yr old, who has stolen the Scout, and loves the Wharnny you sent him. Its bad when a 10 yr old is drawing up knives for a maker to make him.:o

Wait untill you see the Scout Jr. that murderedsongbird ordered, your son will be wanting one of those. ;) Even has red liners.

I`m doing the handles today, so, except for the sheath, it will be done tomorrow.

LOVE my JK knives. Love them.

And I must say. There are only a hand full of companies I've dealt with that have the customer service that John has. I feel absolutely comfortable working with him, and I know I'll get exactly what I wanted.

I showed off my matched Kepharts yesterday, and those things sell themselves let me tell you. I think a couple of my buddies are going to want their own JK's in the near future.

John is one of the good guys, and a heck of a craftsman as well. Every knife purchase that I've made from him has gone smooth as silk.

I fully agree with the sentiments about working with John. He is very flexible and consistent and always keeps you informed of progress. I think that the same can be said for a number of the makers around here also. Every time I've worked with Bryan Breeden it has been a very positive experience that involved a number of e-mails to clarify instructions and updates as to progress and expected ship dates. Both John and Bryan are incredibly flexible at accepting design modifications and turning user generated drawings into real and workable products. Judging from the posts on W&SS I suspect that dealing with Christoff, DP-knives, David Farmer and Gossman are the same. I'd include Andy here also, but he uses a different business model (he makes his design and sells it rather than accepting custom orders).

I've come to the point now where I strongly prefer to buy products where the maker or company representative is active on one of the forums and will respond to users of their products. For production companies, this is a tall order to fill. Yet many of large companies actually do this (Buck, Spyderco, Ratcutlery, Bark River) to name a few.
