Well, I’m a little bushed. I got up and ran just over 4 miles this morning and worked for about 6 hours cutting the grass, weed-eating, weeding and tidying up around the house. So, I decided I’d take a couple hours and take a break. I was planning to hike down below the dam of our lake as it’s a nice wooded area, put up my Eno hammock and smoke a bowl or two from my pipe…however I decided to do a little PSK fishing.
It’s not a big area, but there are a few downed trees, a lot of blackberry vines needed to chop through and other vines…once through it opened up nicely…
Here’s some of the fishing gear:
My little hand casting tube and my Emmrod Packer rod and micro reel:
I caught about a dozen crickets and a couple worms (carried in the clear mug) and the little brim just loved them!
All the brim were pretty small...hand size, but a blast with hand line! I caught three on my little hand casting tube and crickets and another three with my Emmrod; all were caught on crickets but one…they kept hitting my artificial flies, but just didn’t take them in enough. There were no mosquitoes about and I really intended to hike down, put up my hammock and possibly take a nap…oh well!
Next post will be on the rest of the gear I took along…
