Nope it isn`t yours, it was a design from a diferent guy...hmmm seems two of you had the same idea. crazy huh? here`s the link to where it all started from. http://www.knifeforums.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB62&Number=274982&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1
anyways the knife total length is 6" the blade length is just over 2.5" the bolster is nickle silver, the micarta is supposed to be turquoise and black..looks more like green and black to me though. oh and the lanyard is something I made up myself to dress it up a bit. This knife will be getting a leather sheath and a kydex one.
the pic is the one I'll be getting done with help when I get out there...
I'm working on a sketch for the skean dhu still, and our mail system allows me till tuesday or wednesday to get the sketch done b/f the mail gets to him(hope to have it done tonight and online).
my small skinner type is a 3"ish blade, 5.5-6.0" loa, 3 finger handle, 4th in choil. Basically a FB version of the Spyderco Calypso jr.
Skean dhu(from my very rough sketch), just shy of 4" blade, about 2" at ron's signature bevel/grind... choil and 3" handle(about 1.5" full length)
EDIT(again): so I'm not an artist anymore. Used to at least be able to draw a straight line.
Is it going to have an integral bolster? That's a good ideal maybe an integral bolster and butt cap with in-laded handle slabs with about a 2/12 or 3 inch deep bellied drop point blade!
I might have to have one like that made my self it sounds like it would make a great knife!
Yea i'm not an artist either thank god Ron is! He took my crappy drawing and made a great little knife from it!
I was thinking just an integral bolster on it, as thats pretty much Ron's signature. The butt-cap appearance is just from a bad scan.
The small one(top of the 2 pics) will either be me watching, or Ron teaching me... thats the 3" ish blade, 5.5-6" overall... Depending on end weight and thickness will be neck, otherwise I'll carry iwb/rear.
2nd one(bottom pic) is the skean dhu... Ron's sketch and re-draw has it coming out at 6" dead on, but thats just over a 3" blade(3 1/4 or so), going for 4" with 2" top to bottom. I'll try to resize Ron's idea of it and get it on my set at hunt101.com
