im a huge cold steel fan, ive never owned a knife from cs that i didnt like, and they have proved to be dependable and all around great knives. i always thought that cold steels deversity in its products was cool, everything from utility folders to a variety of swords. but this struck me as a little odd, i mean i just dont see the point in it at all...

i can name a dozen things of the top of my head that would make better weapons, and i cant think of one thing i could say to a judge to explain ownership of this. a zytel basball bat in your car? why not. but a club with a blade in it?

i like the company, new products are always good for the market, keep things intersting and all that, but this.....

Didn't you ever see Last of the Mohicans?
That thing is cooler then a lot of cold steel stuff.

They're not sold out, they just have not released them yet. And shouldn't.

What a USELESS weapon - I can't see any self respecting person carrying that as a defensive tool. I'll bet it ends up being used more as an offensive weapon than defensive tool - and by punk kids, not upstanding citizens... What a joke...

Not my cup of tea. But there are folks that go in for reinactments as the ad says. Still, if they were going to reinact, I would think they would want something in a more traditional material than polypropylene.

BTW, I also thought of Last of the Mohicans. Can't help wondering if that was the inspiration for the thing.

You know, it's a tough call, but I think I'll pass.:D (joke)

That thing is just obscene. I can see someone really hurting themselves with the way the spike is set on it.

I'll revise my previous statement to "nself respecting person OR REINACTOR" :) Honestly, that is a dangerous, garbage product. It only has 1 possible use, and it isn't a good one.

Hitting what? Which proves what? Is he going to simulate sticking that dumb ass spike in to someone's head? I've got like 7 CS blades, and USED to think that they had a great product line. I even supported the plastic blades. But these clubs w/ spikes, and the HONEYCOMB!?! (hmmm... what a GREAT WAY to sneak a KNIFE on to an AIRPLANE). I've definately lost some faith in Cold Steel.

on Polypropylene, Grivory, and Zytel!

While most knife companies are making and marketing interesting new knives made of steel, CS is marketing tactical brushes and marking pens made of polymers:

Maybe it's time for them to consider changing their name to Cold Plastic!;)

off to gagets and gear.

The pen idea is actually pretty cool IMO. The club isn't something I would buy, but I guess it's unique. Cold Steel did make one of the coolest flexable weapons ever; the sjambok.

That pen! HAHAHA! Not really a bad idea, but shouldn't it be sterile? I may have to cruise that site for entertainment purposes :)

I think it is pretty cool. You all laugh now but when the zombie outbreak occurs you won't be laughing anymore.:D

I totally agree with diceman. Cold Steel has finally gone over the edge and is creating junk on the market that has no use but to draw unfavorable attention to the knife world. Over the years Lynn Thompson has been getting more and more outragous in his prostitution like persuit of the dollar, that now it's only a matter of time till some wacked out mall ninja uses one of these things on his math teacher for flunking him.

Just like in the gun world, then there will be a crackdown, banning of mail order knives, limits on knife size, etc...

In this time of insane political corectness and a now democratic controled big brother, the knife industry should be practicing a bit of self control and responsible marketing. Idiots like Thompson are bad for everybody in the long run, sooner or later.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

It's not something that I would buy, but there are lots of weapons that I would never buy....swords, tomahawks, pistol-grip shotguns, rifles with bayonets, ninja throwing stars, etc....

But more options and more toys means more freedom.

The originals and custom reproductions are pieces of art, I think a maker on here posted pics of his either in the Knife Makers section or the Gallery section. That thing has absolutely no character at all.

i agree with allot of you guys, but i can see a bit more of a point in thier other plastic stuff, the marker for example. if your into koga sticks or whatever that's probably a preaty cool thing to have. as for the honeycomb, i suppose its probably marketed to women who want some sort of weapon that wont freak out people. i still stand by the rest of there knives though, i think they have just over expanded thier product line.

and that line about re-enactors? wtf? im sure the guy with the black plastic club is going to blend right in with his buckskin clad friends.
