I took Sadie for a walk today at a nearby old farm that's been designated an "open space area". It was 17°F and sunny but it didn't really feel all that cold to me. The snow had a dry powdery crunchy quality when you walked on it. The air dry with the scent of wood burning fireplaces now and then. Nice walk.

The whole field is about the size of maybe ten football fields, full of wildflowers and weeds including milkweed, of which the seed fluff proved to be a terrific tinder.

More to come..

Here a shot of my BRKT Aurora New England Special, Bravo 1, and Canadian Special

In hand. You can see the tiny blaze I started underneath.

JK knives small Drop point with Zebrawood. A very comfortable, compact but stout EDC sized blade. I used it and a Mag-ferro rod to light a little blaze with one scrape. There was tons of tinder and kindling but very little fuel wood.

Three by Walter Davis aka Landar 15. Can you guess which one is my favorite?

Some crow followed us the whole way but wouldn't cooperate for a picture.
Hope you liked the pictures.

Great pics and really beautiful collection of knives

Richard gives me this same look, especially if I'm taking too long to climb up a steep trail :D

Great shots bro!!

You have too many knives in that size range, I can take care of that if you like.....

Shepherds and shepherd mixes are always great looking dogs. I've got a purebred shepherd right now, but I have a feeling my next dog will be a mix. While we're playing, here's my dog last time I took him out for a walk in the woods.

You haven't taken your dog out for a walk since 1/20/2005??? FOR SHAME!

:D

I'm guessing you just replaced your camera batteries? :D

Darn, forgot about the date stamp and it's wrong. These pictures were from the first weekend in Jan this year. I live in Detroit, and most of the places I walk him everyday wouldn't be all that nice of pictures to post here. This is the last time I made it up north to some property we own and I brought him along. But if you'd like some pictures of burned out houses and vacant overgrown lots, by all means I can get you some.

EDIT: Yeah its a camera I just got (ebay) and I didn't even realize the 2005 datestamp. I thought you were refering to the fact that it has been 6 days since I walked him. Gonna have to figure out how to fix that.

LMAO pretty soon Detroit is going to look like that old farm if things are like they say in the news! Didn't mean to bust you out, I really thought that the date was just wrong. Sorry man! You're too honest for your own good :D

Sadie has a ton of character. I like the one of her laying down and barking :D

She's always making faces at the camera, the poser.

This one she calls "Blue Steel"

Whew, ok, good! I thought I was being a jerk :D

Don't feel bad about 6 days, it's been a little longer for my dog. She hates the cold, much prefers to be a lap dog this time of year!

Marcelo, those are good pics too. My parents dog does that as well. 'I'm gonna sit (or lay) here because you told me to, but I'm gonna let you know I'm not happy about the situation!' :D

Great pics! Tony let me play with his Landar bushcrafter for a bit, it's a really impressive blade for the price point, good fit and finish. I'm surprised that I like the handle as much as I do, it thins outa lot at the top.

I think I recognize that top one too! I was nearly gonna pull the trigger on it!

Great shots Marcelo! I'm jealous! Even though its covered with that awful white stuff.

Marcelo I like the photo with the 3 knives in it with the center one reflecting the tree on the blade, yeah, that's the Sh!ts!! Nice set of knives to take on a walk.
