A Long Pointy Bowie

Thanks Nathan! Coming from a fellow "designoholic" that means something! I was trying to tie together the rhythm, textures and colors of the reticulated ferrule and fittings with the contrapuntal rhythm and textures of the woven handle,… and get a nice overall flow and thrust to the piece.

It's funny that you put in the wiki link.
diffraction grating I understand, it was "contrapuntal" that i had to look up

Great knife! "Naval bronze" uses zinc the primary alloy metal in addition to copper, it has excellent forging characteristics. Silicone bronze is mostly used for foundry work.

Main alloy characteristic of Navy bronze (C90300) is tin(8%). Got some zinc too but not much. Other bronzes very similar are C52100 (Naval Bronze "G" ~ 7.5-9% tin and a little phosphorus) and C51000 (5% tin and a little phosphorus).

The little bit of zinc in Navy bronze makes it a little yellower than C51000 and C52100, which are both red. In the second link below, in the list of color samples, C90700 (11% tin) would be closer to the color of Navy bronze
