A look at the little world !!!

LOL ! No secrets Magneto just a case of getting out there as much as I can and having a good look around. Believe me I often take some really bad ones but that's the beauty of digital eh, you can just get rid of them !!!

Great shots ( insert jealous smilie here ) You really have a good eye for pics  .

Great pics, Pitdog.

The "secret" to taking good photos is to just take a heck of a lot of them. Like anything you do, you'll get better at it the more you do it, and even professionals often have a "one keeper per roll" ratio. As Pitdog said, digital cameras are great for that, because you can just toss the bad ones, and you haven't wasted money. The way I look at it, a film camera costs you money every time you take a picture (for film and developing), whereas with a digital camera, every picture you take ends up costing less (cost of camera divided by ever-increasing number of pictures).

I guess another way to put it is "The secret to being a good photographer is not showing people all the crappy ones you take." :D

So the dog and I went for a walk today !

We then came across some of the smaller forest dwellers...

Oh, nice sign, eh? Warning you about the carnivorous slugs, eh? It's good to get oot and aboot once in a while, eh? You can't watch hockey and drink Labats all the time, eh?

Sorry-- couldn't resist. Heck, I honeymooned on Vancouver Island. We were driving from Victoria out to Port San Juan and as we were leaving Sook, we saw a grass fire (this was early on a Sunday morning). I grabbed a shovel out of my truck and my wife went to wake up the owners. We all threw dirt around until the fire was out and were leaning on our shovels and chatting afterwards. The lady of the house was kidding me "aboot my Yankee accent, eh." I'm from Seattle, so a Yankee accent sounds like a farmer from Vermont to me :)

What area are you in? Looks like the West side with all that moss. Did you ever find out what the danger was?

We are actually on the Southern end just outside Victoria ! Maybe I should point out that I'm actually British and have only lived here for just over a year in case you do that Canadian accent again !!!LOL
Saying that though I have just realised I'm drinking a can of Labatts Ice as I type this !!!:D

Just to help clear up a misconception - I've lived in Canada for 61 years and I don't watch hockey at all. I could never understand how people could get excited watching other people having fun. Maybe if I stick around for another 20 years or so, then I might be interested in spectator sports.

As far as drinking Labatt's all the time -SO??? :)

Doc

Boy am I glad you posted that, now we get to decipher that there sign for ya. It says,

Welcome, please walk under yellow tape for access.

Boy, what would you do without us!

I thought that's what it said, thanks for confirming !!!:D

FOOLS!!! Disregard the sign at your own risk. Don't forget you're in the pacific NW and by now it should be dawning upon your foggy minds and the danger is clear. Or haven't you heard of a little thing called Sasquatch?

I know--- and there are as many or more Yanks who watch hockey. It is funny when you see the CBC TV listing and it just says NHL straight across the schedule for hours and hours. When it's really cold and nasty, watching hockey makes sense. You can only read so much Farley Mowat, eh?

As to the Labatts, I prefer Moosehead :D
