Have been carrying my SOG multi tool since 1998. Lost that one with the made in America stamp on it sadly two years ago. Immediately Got a new one that I use for my business on a daily basis from a pry bar to a caulking scraper with the the tools I custom turned into with a grinder. Anyways never saw a use for a folding knife finding them so limited and basically weak and easily breakable. But my interest never stopped to keep wondering whats new in the knife world and something that might work as alternative to sometimes switch out what I am carrying besides another multi tool. And then I found this one here which led me to videos of a folding knife I gotta have and ordered today.

Borrowed photos from the site.

I didn't care about quick releasing the blade fast and all that. Carrying a SOG multi tool since 1998 slow and steady is just fine for me. Just wanted a large folder that could take the prying and banging on a daily basis not worrying about the blade not staying in place for me. If it is as good as this video shows will be buying one for my father and a second one for me.

So thanks for all the posting of great stuff over the years that helped me find this product.

So if anyone is interested will share some of my opinions in the beginning. Then another opinion after a month of use with it.

The video said it was from France and uses 420HC steel. Of course he spoke in English, then German, then English, then German, then I lost track.

I heard him say it's X46cr13 steel. I have no motivation to look it up to "compare" the two. Last time I did that was with 8cr13mov and everyone was like its a cheap wannabe not as good as AUS8. My use of 8cr13mov has proven it to be a much better steel than AUS8 from several manufacturers. A chart and looks like never relates to actual steel completed products in my experience.

Yes plz.

And WELCOME!

Okay should have it by next week and will keep a mental journal as I put it through my daily work in home inspections and contracted work I do for home repairs through banks and real estate companies keeps my multi tool quite busy so this one should get a good work out.

That knife looks like it weighs over a pound, and overly obtrusive. I am curious to see the follow-up review of this blade. I bet it will still produce some blade play with time and reasonably hard use, due to seeing how the lock engagement is affixed to the frame. Plus the fact that the ears and "horns" sticking out on the lock mechanism are sure to snag on everything.

Good luck with that horny boat anchor of a knife lol! My opinion is that there are far better options out there (since your still in the looking phase of this knife endeavor) , especially if your going to tote and use this knife every singe day where comfort in carry and use will be paramount and highly noticed. But that's just my opinion, and we are all different, which is what makes this ole world tick. :D

I would be willing to bet that a Cold Steel recon 1 would provide close to the performance and lock / blade pivot strength as this knife, and the CS is a mid-grade production folder for under $100.

I carry my SOG in my pants without a sheath for 17 years now and doubt it weighs more then that beast. At least this one will have a clip.

I have invested many hours of research in this knife and it has been through some pretty big torture tests on video and none showed any signs of play. But we will see soon enough if true and if it can handle the sideways prying I plan on putting it through. With my work I love tools and this will be one of my more fun ones to torture just for the joy of it to see if it can be in the league with my SOG multi tool.

I have been in the looking phase for years and a quiet wanderer around here for many years also and this one as of right now until I test approve it myself is in a completely different league then just about any of the folding locking mechanism out there. And maybe just maybe to the ones I have seen for hundreds more. It is the sideway prying abilities that make it different then all the rest and I have watched many of the cold steel torture tests that they do with the competition.
