I am taking your advice. Usually, I would be taking pix and posting and sending email until 8 o'clock tonight but I am going to close shop as soon as I post this, shower, shave and Yangdu and I are going to the Hilton. I'll drink a few Spaten, play a little video poker, and we'll eat at the five star Hilton Steak House -- Shrimp scampi for Yangdu and steak and lobster for me. I have put in 8 hours and that's enough so you tell me.

Three of our BIG salyans arrived (Kami split the shipment -- gunshy after recent losses), some pretty good village Chainpuri handled Sirupatis, and some much improved stuff from shop 2 -- and a couple of pix of shop 2 and the boss.

So, let's look at the stuff and talk about it in the AM. I'm outta here!

Good for you Uncle. We better don't see you posting here again till the sun rise.

Good for you Uncle Bill!!! Have a good time and RELAX. It's good for the soul.

Now for the rest of you. Watch carefully tomarow. If Uncle Bill has any village models made by the same kami who made the villager that I just bought (the last one posted) JUMP ON IT!!!!!! Mine it truely top notch. The only thing distinguishing it from my ill fated shop 2 BAS are a few fold lines left over from the forging process. (and of course it is still of a one piece design! IT'S A JOKE! LAUGH!!) The polish is excellant, the wood is beautiful and nicely finished rosewood and the sheith is 1st rate. At about 14" and about 1 lb. it is a joy to carry around. It holds a edge with the best of them. I only had to recontour the base of the grip to better fit my hand. (about 15 minutes with the dremel, some sandpaper and linseed oil) An absolute bargain at $65.

Now, someone save me a Salyan. I think I might have to have one!

Pakcik Bill & Makcik Yangdu;
I hope both of you have a nice & relaxing time after 8 hours working hard.

I hope Greg (Pumpkin 40) and I were in your list of those who will receive BIG BROAD Salyan.

Greg;
I believe 18" Salyan will become another talking piece among us big knife lovers ! I remember that Salyan has a different style of cho.

Hope you both had a nice time out and enjoyed your dinner. There's nothing quite like a good steak and lobster.

Lost at video poker (why are the casinos here anyway!?) but dinner was great. Up at work at 7 AM this morning. Will get to the pix of Salyan a bit later.

Thanks all for well wishes!

Uncle Bill
