The world's strongest sharpest knives. <--whatever happened to that line? Are they not anymore? That makes me sad.

"Anytime, Anywhere" was especially fitting tonight after seeing the new Star Wars with a Counter Point XL in the pocket. Even though the Counter Point XL I received was the old AUS8 model that had the old slogan on the box.

Yeah, but "anytime, anywhere" could refer to any item. Juicy fruit gum - anytime, anywhere...

My guess is they wanted to change it to a less "litigious" phrase. I miss the world's sharpest, strongest knives. It let a man know exactly what was in the box.

I second this motion.

Well...sadly due to whiny little kids blabbling how the old motto wasn't true and all that

It was a little flowery but not entirely inaccurate; they come with some of the best factory edges around and feature strong designs.

This has already been debated ad nauseum, but to rehash- that is why fixed blades were invented first...

They are not the strongest knives. Have you met Mr. Fixed Blade? Also after the incident with CRKT and the virtual fixed blade stuff, it wouldn't really be appropriate for them to make those statements.

What CS owners have to "deal with" is the constant whining every time "x company's" knife gets owned in a showdown. Then we have to deal with "y company" super duper race car bling knife FAILING us, because we are knife freaks, just had to have one anyway....alas no dice. Then we have to deal with the guys who watch PROOF videos and try to copy those results, screw up, and then whine AGAIN when the knife fails. And last of all, YES WE DO HAVE TO DEAL WITH A CS KNIFE THAT FAILS....US....when used as directed, with common sense.

Just not as often as the X and Y customers!!! So be of good cheer it all balances out

I really like my Cold Steel knives but the strongest lock moniker just doesn't impress me. I buy their products for the new steel offerings at an amazing price. If any knife company chose to, they could just add a locking pin, like the Rao folder to lock the blade open. In essence, creating a knife as strong as any folder Cold Steel has to offer.

Well spyderco tried just that with their Tatanka , with the powerlock ,which failed at 300+pounds or so BEFORE the blade snapped. The voyager's triad trumped it. And as for the RAO, Andrew himself did say the test for that knife may come in the future

And also, even though the RAO's locking may beat the triad, the triad would still be the most convenient strong lock whereas the RAO's lock you had to manually insert the pin

I just think hanging weights from a knife to test a lock is silly at best and does not illustrate real world use. Take a frame lock for example, In the real world my hand holds in the lock bar, how could it fail? Many of the knives that fail Cold Steels tests in 60 seconds shine in countless videos I've seen online. Why the disparity? A Russian gentleman vininull, beats the snot out of knives. Check out his videos, now that's testing the limits of a knife.

Well there have been cases of the Sebenza failing medium tasks. And its framelock

Mr. Thompson,

I’m very happy with my Hold Out I I I in CTS-XHP.
Thank You and Merry Christmas.

One suggestion : Make the pocket clip spring rate softer. I carry it a fair amount in my back pocket and in thick winter pants. Some of the pants have zipper closures over the wallet pocket. My wire clip on the Spydy has no prob., cheep Gerbers have no prob, The CS H O gets a death grip on the pockets.

I could carry a different knife . . . I want to carry your Hold Out.
Please offer a second choice clip and I will buy it.

First I unbent the clip just a tad . . . then I modded the clip and still it is too tenacious. I appreciate the shirt pocket carry. I didn’t mess it up for that; still works great there and summer weight pants. Great knife for that ! ! !

Keep up the good work.
PS: If it wasn’t for your videos I would have never realized the effectiveness of a serrated blade (not that I have one or carry one but yah I get it now ).

I can appreciate the hanging weight thing. Pretty impressive. I had my Gerber jam up today just cutting up boxes. I couldn't unlock it without using a small pry (ha, ha, used my Artifact).

I have NEVER had the Hold Out jam or fail to lock up. I cut myself attempting to unlock another knife that jammed and I couldn't unlock. Cut my hand while prying it when the lock finally unlocked.

Silly or not . . . the locks work.

I greatly appreciate Cold Steel products and look forward to the 2016 line. If you're a hater of tough high value products under constant improvement, do us all a favour and just walk on by.

With powers that can divine the future, I already know of one product yet to be announced for the 2016 line:

Wowbagger - just get 2 pairs of vice grips or pliers. If scratches worry you wrap the jaws in cloth. Bend the clip to your liking.
