I have recieved a few emails, and Shogun brought up in another thread, that you guys may want a Microtech forum here.

There is already now a Microtech forum at KFC and the new forum at microholics.com.

Is three a crowd?

If you all want it here, I can turn one on and give you all a place to hang out and help each other without running all over the web. I would need a moderator for it though. Maybe Patric at Triple Aught?

Just let me know.

Personally I was a bit surprised that if MT were going to "endorse" a forum, that they didn't just do it here. Why recreate the wheel when there is so much gushing about MT here in the first place.

I would say yes, and with Patric we could get some MT insider info(?????).

Cheers!

Just got down to the other thread Mike, and I better understand now. I still say yes to one here, it's a pain in the butt to bounce between forums, much less boards.

Merry Christmas!

Here's my reply to this question from the Automatic Knife Forum :

Hiya Mike,

...two's plenty of MT forums and besides, it'd take away from the occasional Dalton/Microtech (or is it MT vs. the World?) threads we get here

One thing I noticed was an almost immediate duplicity of newer questions from one MT forum to the new MT forum. That's mostly what you'd see here - duplicity. Someone will hear something "over there" and run "over here" and ask the same thing, or make the same point...

As an MT fan, I'd prefer to look to one source for that info; two won't hurt; but three would flood the market. The Auto Forum here does just fine

I'm sure Lucky Dog will do a great job at KFC, as Ty and Sean are certain to do on their new MT forum. Patrick would be superb as a moderator, in probably any forum.

Will I visit BFC any less, regardless of whether you create another MT forum? Of course not. There never was an MT focus here - now there is somewhere else. Perhaps if it's found that those Forums are lacking, BFC can step in. Right now it'd just look like you're playing keep up, for no good reason.

I think a MT forum would be a good idea reguardless. MT is one of the more popular knives and some people don't exactly know where to go sometimes for that information.

However, I also agree that the Auto Forum can provide some of that too. Hmmm...

Oh well, all aside, I think Pat would be a good moderator...

I agree with what chetchat said, but I for one still want a Microtech forum here, makes things a lot easier.

Mike,
I think I would have to agree with Chetchat. I do not think another MT forum is needed. I rather like Bladeforums because of the different opinions of the knife users that are here. It seems that the MT forums are rather one sided. Please don't take this wrong, this is not a troll, I just don't see the "hype" for the price. I like Microtech knives (I own somewhere around 15 of them) I just get tired of the worship status they seem to receive.
I think we can talk about MT knives without having a dedicated forum for them. They make a good knife but so do a bunch of other factories.
I like the "well roundedness" of Bladeforums.com. But, I will leave running it up to you. I will not stop reading here if you do put a MT forum in or not.
Thank you Mike for asking us for input.

My Two Cents.

By the way...Did all of you subscribe to the "E-zine" yet; I did! Can't wait!!!

I'd like to see a forum here, so that I don't have to look in several places for info.
