A moment of silence (found!)

My first Esquire (may it RIP) is being enjoyed by some Postal worker too. They were nice enough to put a broken off piece of brick back in the paper wrapper, tape up the box, and send it on its merry way so that they could add insult to the injury! I agree, thieves stink!

This story sucks! I hope it's just lost and soon to be found. Stay positive!

This brings up the issue of insurance. I've insured packages before and I've always wondered if it's actually worth it. I've heard from several long time members that USPS insurance is a joke. They drag out your claim and then if you're lucky, they only pay a fraction of the packages total value. I have heard FedEx handles claims very well, but you pay more for slower service, but I guess it's worth it.

Anybody had experience with a lost package claim here in the US?

Didn't mean to hijack your thread, but I've meaning to bring up insurance in the forum for a while.

Once again, I hope your pieces show up. Crano, that was pretty cool of you to refund the funds straight away. Good job buddy:thumbup:.

There can be hope... My knife from the land down under just arrived today... And once again, Crano is one of the best

I have always wondered the same thing myself. I used to insure for full value, but I was never really sure if it would make a difference if something happened to it. After receiving a number knives (including some from long term, well-respected forum members), it seemed like accepted practice was just the standard insurance. I assumed that was based on the experiences in general of the members of the forum, but you know what they say about assuming...

I read that a used knife without a receipt would not be considered for a claim. Not sure if that's true or not. I still insure every package, but it would be nice to know if I should take my business elsewhere.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I'd be seriously bummed for a couple of days. :(

They made it!!!

Who would have thought that they would arrive 1 month and 1 week late, I'm blown away. I'm glad the Aussie post system pulled through.

I would just like to thank LavaWood for his patience and understanding in all of this . He is truly a champion to deal with and a great guy.

Mick.

That's a nice treat to come home to, especially after thinking them lost.
