When the same thing happened in Australia in Port Arthur our gun laws changed. I know most of you guys are gun mad and Australia has never been as pro guns or as willing to use them against people as the US is but tightening our gun laws has helped a lot.
 
There was a young lady on the Today Show this morning who was a student at Columbine High when the shootings occurred there and is now a student at Virginia Tech. I can't imagine going through that horror once, much less twice. She made an interesting comment about how, in the aftermath at Columbine, the media intruded on every attempt by the students there to gather and share their grief and support. I hope the media will hear this message now.

I have been impressed by the maturity of the Virginia Tech students who have been interviewed on TV, and the sense of community they have demonstrated in reaching out to their peers.

You have to wonder how accute that "sense of community" was before the shootings. According to him ,that was the reason behind it all...
