Tonight my BM-239 suffered a major case of "The Broken Joint"
The blade and bite handle lie on the floor with the safe handle still in my grasp I contemplate repairing my first bali love, but alas, I cannot. To manhandle it again would erase what I've done, NO, I will keep this to remind me that even your most trusted companion can sometimes fail you. Rest in pieces my good freind.

"How much for that balisong with the slotted handles?" -1994

Don't think of it as failing you. Think of it as having given its all for you. :)

Resurrect it my friend .. visit Chuck's website. There are people that can do it. Or you might just buy a Jag and take the handle for it ...

Zamak tends to break, but I bet BM42 or BM44 will last till ... your great grandson? ;)

I'm sorry to hear that man. Bzzzt is right. That knife gave you all it had until the end.

And I know it doesn't seem like it right now, but there are a lot of fish in the sea and you'll find another one in no time. ;)

You took the words right out of my mouth:) Thanks guys, I appreciate your condolences. The thought of resurecting it is just too cruel to me at this point. This was the first bali I ever purchased, I learned everything I know on my 239. It's untimely demise has only opened more doors for me however, now I have developed a softer style and I doubt that I will be as hard on my 42S (not that it matters:D ), so all is not lost. Many lessons have come from this unfortunate ordeal also many new ideas, I am know using my old safe handle as a Kobuton on my keyring  Maybe I will resurect it for my son or daughter when that time comes around:D

Chuck Griffith makes handles for Jags and International Series Bali-Songs, they are aluminum, they will last a lot longer than putting another set of Jag handles on there and it looks better.

Are there any updates on Chuck getting back online or trying to figure out what was lost?
