  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

A month without T.V. and counting...

JIm,

I would wager that you were TAUGHT that you have control over objects like that - many simply do not realize this nor have the introspection to discover it. It simply controls them.

Think about things like anger - people say 'YOU made me angry!' - no one can MAKE you angry... but we think people can.

To shorten that up, I am damn stubborn.:D But like I said, we didn't even have electricity yet when most of the country already had TV. Much of Rural Western SD didn't have power until the mid fifties. A few people had wind chargers and a few had the old Gas powered Delco plants for power, we didn't have either.

It is true though, we learned that all the chores had to be done before any entertainment took place.:) We were darn poor but we didn't know it, to darn busy.

We haven't had sable/sat/tv for more than a year, now..... don't miss it. We don't get newspapers or flyers anymore either.

TF... your kids are doing fine. Michelle hasn't talked about your "chance" meetings in a while so I think you're in the clear as far as criminal charges go. I mean, she was only 15 and drugged when it happened... how much can she remember, right?

Rick

My Direct TV satellite box burned out around midnight last night. Got more done than usual this evening and probably will until a new Hi Def box is installed in a couple weeks.

Heck, all the hot Russian women were knocked out of the US Open so I suppose it's not that big of a sacrifice!:(

Well, yes we did. There was a pretty good hill about halfway to school. Of course that meant we walked down hill too. Most often though we rode a horse. All the country schools had a small barn for the horses. We also had to bring in wood and coal in for the school stove. We did our chores at home before and after school and then had our school chores as well.

Now that I am retired, if I want to set down and watch TV, I ain't gonna join TV anonymous.:D I am more than happy to have one TV and no Milk Cows.

I do have to add that only one of my three kids have a TV. They all meet at the home of the one who has a TV to watch Football.
