A more standard slip joint

That is a very nice looking knife!

The way the handle curves and is nice and rtounded off so no hot spots, hits a mark for me. The blade has a nice sweeping curve e to the edge with a fine point hits another mark for me. And I love the texture of the micarta adding a rough worker look to the knife.

Very very nice.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for the kind words. The pair I took orders for will be similiar, with a tad longer blade. One in green canvas, the other in red jigged bone.

Just saw your site. I was born in Abilene! I obviously have no memory of it other than a birth certificate.

Great looking knife, Jason!

Not a bad place to be from, nor a bad place to forget :) I've been here 16 out of the last 20 years. Just moved to the country north of town, but nobody knows where Hawley is, so I'll probably leave Abilene in my profile.

Congrats from a Fry in WV.

Nice to meet you, other Mr. Fry.

I agree with Jacknife. You combined a nice sweeping curved cutting edge with a very useful piercing tip. Many blades don't combine both useful characteristics. Good job.

I took an order for a couple of slip joints, so I made this one as practice. It's much more of a traditional pattern than the long skinny bladed affair I posted earlier this week. 154 CM and natural canvas Micarta with brass liners and pens, and bronze washers. 3.5 closed, 6.5 open. Smooth cam action with good walk and talk. Not perfect, but a solid handmade knife.

Looks pretty good to me. Nice and clean. I would have to have it in hand to determine if walk and talk are up to snuff (I believe you ;))...
