A mouse ate my Buck 420HC knife

I don't think the mouse ate the edge off. It looks to me like the mouse was batoning with the knife, which is obviously abuse :-)

So , you know that mouse don't eat 3V steel ? By the way, an excellent advertisement of Work Sharp Ken Onion Edition

I saw that video a while ago, if it's the one where the guy left his vanguard on a shelf with guts on it and mice are on it. ( I didn't watch the video again )

That's a crazy video. I know mice can get into a lot of stuff, but I never heard of them actually chewing steel like that. I saw he also has the Work Sharp Guided Sharpening System in the background. Since I have the same sharpener, I kept thinking how long would it take to fix that knife on the GSS as opposed to the KO powered sharpener, especially if it took him 45 minutes.

I've had squirrels and rats chew through the sheet metal vent covers on my roof before, but I wouldn't have thought they could chew through hardened/tempered blade steel. That's wild!

I remember watching hamsters and gerbils ritualistically chew on a steel cage for hours day after day and never wear the steel down that much. Maybe the Buck 420HC is more brittle than rodent cage steel. I would have never guessed that this could happen.
