A Mystery Blade??

I figure I'll just buy here because through Yangdu funds roll to the kamis. Very Obamistic of me in a "spread the wealth" kinda way, eh?

Or you could have bought it to have kept it within the HI forum family?

I have and will continue to buy new blades from Yangdu as well 'used' HI blades from forum members to build a representive collection of HI offerings.

For the cost of buying a Blade Forum membership the seller could have at least doubled his sale price...he lost big dollars and as far as is known this rare HI offering is lost to those whose who know its history and specialness.

seller is a bf member,,but dont know his level of membership..

The same as you and me ..."Registered User" :(

"Gold Membership
Allows you to sell in the Exchange section, 40 private messages, a custom signature and a 100x100 avatar. Cost $25.00 per year."
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/payments.php

Seems to me he would have been wiser and better financially to have spent the $25 to upgrade his membership and there would have, as I said, been a greater chance for the Yin Yang Sword to stay in known hands.

N.B. I tried to bid but was unable to do so as the seller limited sales to US Ebay members. :grumpy: :thumbdn:

I have had no such problems buying from Forum members.

Just to let you know I was the lucky bidder on this outstanding blade. I just couldn't
let it get out of the HI community. We as a community appreciate the effort and skill and
time the kamies put into the blades they make. this one is a exceptional example of their
work and I feel lucky to have acquired it.

Jim, many thanks for buying this unique HI offering due to your understanding its importance:

It is the HI community who are fortunate that you acquired it.

It may sound corny, but I see the necessity that some of us take on the role as temporary caretakers for the these special blades, whether they be Katana's or Khukuri's or something entirely new and modern, to ensure they are around for posterity.
