A Wharncliffe Blade has a lot going for it!! Straight edge, pointy tip; good slicer if it's ground correctly!!
Not a blade for the ham-fisted, but for a retired older gent (me!), or an enlightened blade wielder,
like you!! :D
So, equip it with a nice sway-back handle and you have the Viper!! Usually I eschew man-made materials, but this "Snakeskin" caught my eye, along with the Viper name, and I jumped on it!!Brown snakeskin 1.jpgBrown snakeskin 3.jpg
Then along came the 2020 BF knife, a Viper Viper if you will!!;) How could I resist??🤔Black Magic 1.jpg
This became a regular user! Great knife! But I met a very talented local knifemaker, and found a stray pre-ban "tooth", and an amazing Viper was born!! So now I have a Nest of Vipers!! Nest Of 1.jpgNest Of 2.jpgNest Of 3.jpg
And he does great Scrimshaw!!😲

P.S. Please post your Vipers and tell us about them!!

3 beauties you have there, Charlie. This 47 in ironwood is my first viper, and it gets carried often. Such a great blade/handle combo. I really enjoy the wharncliffe blade. It almost feels like a talon extension of my hand.

This BF viper is also fantastic. The m390 blade gets carried a lot in this Florida humidity. Added bonus, and one of the main reasons I love it is this knife was a gift from a very generous porch member, who asked to remain anonymous.

Oh man, that snake scrimshaw is badass!✊

Charlie - I don’t have a viper but yours look amazing - Love That Scrimshaw!!
I mean - I REALLY Love that scrimshaw!

Everyone has shown stunning examples😱

Harry’s Rams Horn caught my eye big time because of its features - I have always wanted to own a Rams Horn after reading Ed Fowlers book - yet never have - maybe this will kick me into a quest- Ed stated that the Rams Hirn had extremely good Grip qualities.

Charlie, great items , especially admire the Acrylic GEC

I had a GEC Viper in Osage at one time, very nice example. After Bob/ Big Biscuit died, I gave the Viper away as a contribution towards his memorial-fund. Bob had given me a very nice knife, slip in Bison leather and US coin when we did a trade and it was only shortly before he died. I hope somebody out there in the US now enjoys my former Osage Orange :)

I'm an enthusiast for last year's Forum Knife from Viper and carry it a lot, liking the low weight and high finish. Just hope I can get hold of one of the proposed Lamb-Foot knives that Mike is arranging with Viper.

I usually ask my doctors to prescribe generic drugs for me, if possible. So I suppose it's no surprise that I don't have a "brand name" Viper, but I do have a "generic" knife with Wharncliffe blade and swayback handle: my Case chestnut jigged bone CV Swayback Jack (thanks, Paul) is as venomous as any of the "official" Vipers I've seen here, AND it has a pen blade, too! 🤓:thumbsup:

Charlie, that scrimshaw on your white knife is exquisite!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

If that’s generic, color me generic! Wow, those are nice Chestnut covers! 😳

I picked this one up at the Case dealer down at “The Lake” two years ago I think. It was on sale at a ridiculously low price, maybe because the covers don’t have a lot of contrast or the small blemish on the shield. Either way, I really like it and it looks better in person. 😉👍28998FAC-41FC-4951-BBB7-C81B2CB79725.jpeg
Edit: forgot the picture

I really like my forum Viper in ram's horn, and carry it quite often; it's perfect for a lightweight carry around the house.

The larger GEC Vipers get some carry outside the home, but not too often, as I prefer a bellied blade when out and about.
