Okay, not really. ;) We have zero plans to become a husband/wife bladesmithing team... But if ever there was any doubt that I FINALLY found the girl that is truly supportive of me being a knife maker, this post should wash it clean away.

The fact she is so incredibly supportive, that she was willing to try this stuff out, means the world to me!!!

She packs quite a punch, be careful! ;) :D

First she learned how to surface grind--- I was running around in a T-shirt and she was prepared for a blizzard. ;)

Then she learned how to run the angle grinders. It's hard to see, but she had hearing protection, goggles, and gloves on.

We had her learning... might as well learn how to use the press and do some forge welding. Here she's working on her 120 layer billet! :) :D

Here she's forging it round, in preparation for twisting it.

My XL gloves on her XS hands were pretty awkward, but she managed, she's a trooper!

Getting her twist on... ;) :D She's focused!

She'll probably kill me for this  because she was just hamming it up, but I think it's adorable :) ;) :D

We haven't decided yet what she's going to make out of it.... but it sure was a lot of fun having her work with me in the shop like this!!!  :)

As quick a learner as she is, and as naturally as she took to ALL of these steps, it's probably a good thing she has a great job because I think she's be a lot better than me in no time.

Very cool. It is important to have a supportive partner. Thanks for sharing and keep the pics coming as the work progresses.

Sweet deal. at this rate you are going to be doing the dishes and she will be doing the knifemaking. I wish you luck. you will need it.

Nick.... I like you 17% less than before I read this.

Beautiful lady... I would like to say you got lucky with her.... but you totally deserve a fine woman like that, bro!

That is so awesome! When I was smithing my honey was supportive and let me do my thing, but she had zero desire to play with me. As if you didn't know you are very blessed! PS - she is really cute ;-)

That is great! Not too many gals who would be willing to try all that. I think you did well!

Nice! I'll give you my wife's phone number...Maybe she can call my wife and giver her a just try it "Pep talk"! Good stuff man, You have truly found the right one for you.

Cool! My wife keeps saying she wants to try some grinding, that's cool your wife is out in the shop. That looks like it will be a nice piece of damascus, that twist photo is excellent.

Dude! Put a ring on her finger! ;) You've got a keeper, brother. She seemed like a real nice girl when we met in San Antonio. It is always nice to have someone share in your passions, even if it is just for a brief moment. Good for her!

unlike most guys which post pics of their chicks, your girl is actually half way decent/pretty! you should see some of the ones I have seen in the gun forums i frequent, I'd much rather have the guns then the girls!!!

She'll probably kill me for this  because she was just hamming it up, but I think it's adorable :) ;) :D

Nick, you are of the luckiest men in the world. You can share your self and your passion with a beautiful woman. It don't get better than that.

Looks like a great day. My girlfriend does sheath work for me, and most of the ordering/paperwork/office stuff... I haven't been able to talk her into doing any hand-sanding though :(

If only my wife would be supportive. I fear that one day her Italian temper will take over and I'll wake up with a dead horse head in my bed and my knives and swords protruding from the skull.
