A new book

thanks Doc - I have recently been working on gathering books of this nature :)

Thanks Doc - looks like quite the comprehensive book.

Have you had the chance to flip through it yet? I'm wondering about the balance between identification / description and discussion of applications. It's high time that I purchased a good plant ID book!

All the best,

- Mike

Thanks for posting this. I have Linda Kershaw's tree ID book, same publisher, and it's very good, so I'll look out for this one.

Thanks for the book tip Doc! It is tough finding info on plants for up here in the PNW.

Hey Mike, I have flipped through it and it looks pretty good. It's definitely on my list. And remember, one good plant ID book is not enough. For example, I have one book that says the berries of Virginia Creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia) are edible and another that says they are poisonous!

Linda Kershaw is also a contributing editor and the book is laid out the same way hers are.

Cheers Doc, I was actually toying with getting this book below but now I'm not sure which to get !!!

wildmike and pitdog, do you know about this one? And pitdog, the book by Elias and Dykeman is very good. My copy has broken down into separate pages. :(

Thanks Doc. I didn't know there was anything edible up in Canada:)

LOL, I'd like to respond to this on so many different levels, but I won't. :D
