A New Buck 110 Injury For the Books

I was helping my wife cut up cucumbers for making pickles with my Buck 110. Laid it on the edge of the table. I turned to the right to pick up another cucumber, and with my left elbow I hit the end of the handle that was hanging over the edge of the table. The knife did a nice little flip in the air and stuck in the side of my ankle about 1/2". Ended up in the ER with some nerve damage and stitches. The side of my ankle still has no feeling after several years. You know what they say - sh*t happens. :oops:

Better keep it to 110s, I alone would have several knife injury stories with scars to match . On the bright side I still have all my appendages 😆

I've only had minor Buck 110-related injuries.

All of my hijinks that put appendages or my life in jeopardy were conducted with non-Buck products (a Red Shed fixed blade and a 5.11 folding Karambit, respectively).
 
I’ll make it a half of a 110 story about a mishap with a Buck 55. There’s a thread I started about a year and a half ago where I was all set to lance an abscess on a cow and and while wiping the freshly sharpened 55 down with disinfectant I miss handled it and it flung out of my hands and stabbed my inner thigh just missing the artery. My son thought it had as blood came gushing out so off to the ER we went. Fortunately it was a near miss and it quite bleeding about 10 minutes after they applied ice packs. Then some liquid bandage supper glue and i was released with my blood soaked jeans and socks.
 
I wonder if Buck owners have more bald spots on their arms than people who have only non-Buck knives.

Personally I would like to think fewer Buck owners have to test their edges because they already know it's going to come razor sharp.

The only exception seems to have been the 305, none of the 4 NOS 305's I've bought were that sharp for some reason.
Everything else about them was/ is perfect and consistent from 1989, 1998, 2003, and 2017.
That's 4 decades represented and all had the same F&F.
