Here is one I did last week. This was before I cleaned and buffed it. Its 3/16 thick! I know the pic sucks but I just bought a new DSLR so they should be better soon!

Looking good Chris! Glad to see your posting again, how are the eyes? When you didn't respond to the emails I thought maybe you would be away a while with the eye lids in such bad shape.

Thanks guys, the eyes are about back to normal Mist. The rash on my hands is still there, although it has lessened. I am wearing nitrile gloves now so I think the heat and moisture are prolonging full recovery there

Nice design. Looks very useful.

What camera did you pick up?

Ok, ok! This might take awhile. As most know I received fellow forum member Mistwalker for the Christmas swap. I sent him a knife and we have been exchanging emails ever since than. He is great to talk with because he is a huge knife guy and actually uses them on a daily basis. Well, he mentioned a knife that he would like to carry as an EDC a emailed me a drawing of it. It was different for me so I was excited about it. I offered to make it and away we went. I tried to keep the design as close as I could by an emailed drawing and tweaked it a little. His knife has a thumbramp and decided to make one without a ramp to see how it would translate. I really like both of them and feel it is a great EDC. Hopefully Brian won't mind me sharing this and look forward to hear some of his thoughts of his knife when he receives it this week.
Its around a 3 3/4 blade 8" OAL. This knife was around 1/4" thick and his knife was made with 3/16. I was a little worried about the thickness but it really worked well with the design. The blade width is around 1 1/8" so it has some size there.
This knife was purschased and shipped down south to a great guy that I have been fortunate to meet recently.
Mistwalkers knife is a little different so you will have to wait to see it!
The wood is stabilized and dyed black ash burl.

As for the camera, I posted a thread on it!

Cool beans man, glad you're doing better! No worries on sharing, and really looking forward to getting the knife. I have some nice customs that are classy and great for the woods, one KFU included...so far. Then I have some tough, well made production knives that are great designs and sizes for edc in an urban environment...the trouble with them is the inherent tactical appearance and low level of sheeple friendliness. I wanted a small-ish fixed blade for edc that incorporated the size, shape, and toughness I wanted for my urban area and transitional urban woods studies, but with a more a classy look and build, and better ergonomics. Once I got the opportunity to handle the first KFU knife I was sure Chris could make what I wanted, and from what I have seen in the pictures he did just that.

The handle contours

But you'll have to wait till I get the knife in to see more :) , I'm really looking forward to getting it out in the field.

wow. i love the handle contours. i like my handles on the thinner side, and this looks perfect.

Yep, I'm loving them too, the shallow oval profile is perfect for the combination of features I wanted in this knife.

Ok...since Chris is having fun with his new camera...and hell bent on teasing me...here is one of the three he just sent me :)

The one I just posted, post #13, is a full flat grind. I wanted good slicing capability, but also good strength and durability in rough use.

Love the thumb ramp.
Love the jimping on the thumb ramp.
Love the hefty thickness.
Love the overall shape.
Love the FFG!

I got to lay hands on the non ramped version yesterday. The handle contours are very comfortable and the blade shape and size seem to be very useful. Another great addition to an already stunning line up.

Right there with ya man. Looks like Chris did an awesome job of bringing the drawing to life! Really looking forward to seeing it in person!
