really liking this pattern!
LOVE the handle contours.
I'm thinking rampless in 3/16 stock would be pretty close to perfect.
I understand the utility of a thumb ramp -- but most of the ones I've seen/handled didn't work for the way I hold/use a knife.
the fact that you like them is perfectly fine -- if all the blades looked the same, it'd be a pretty boring world.
that said, I'd like to see your original concept out of sheer curiosity.
I'm guessing longer blade, penetrator tip and/or sharpened swedge?
That thumb ramp fit my hand well and the swells were very nice... I don't think you will be disappointed a bit Mist!
And as far as a penetrator tip that 1/4 inch stock with the tip Chris put on it there not much that could stop it!!!
That was fast!
Supposed to be sunny tomorrow. Now its my turn to to take some photos of it![]()
It's been raining so long, I'm not sure I'll recognize the sun if does come out!
I won't know how to act without the sky p*ssin' in my face every time I go outside.
OK Mist - I concede.
That's a very functional looking thumb ramp -- and aesthetic.
It looked a lot more intrusive in the WIP pics.
really - that's a good looking knife. Chris did you right on it.
!Thanks. It was a lot more intrusive in the original profile, but after looking at it and hearing Chris' thoughts on how it felt there was an adjustment made to it. Chris really did a bang up job on the knife, I am extremely well pleased. I was told by another member here that Chris is known for his sharp edges. Having experienced a couple of them for myself, I will now be another one saying that Chris is known for his edges.
Really nice edge Chris!

I wasnt aware I was known for.my edges! I do my best with them. I feel my knives have gotten alot better of the last couple of months. Im grinding them thinner now and contouring the handles more. Its still a work n progrees!
