That's a beautiful piece right there. Love the straightness of it. Really pretty.
Now I want one. >.<

I like it. Reminds me of something from Kizlyar. (off to google Y-Start...)

edit: Post-googling, no thanks. Rather buy something from a credible manufacturer here in the states.

Interesting. Are you selling/distributing that knife? Like the fixed blade from Enlan you talked about in a thread you opened a little while ago?

In that thread you said "...I am just a wholeseller of knives to ourside of China .." ...

Havent heard of them, seems to be another chinese manufacturer take that as you will, Id be willing to give it a go pending price is sub 20-30, and specs would be nice too

Post Specs (thanks the swede)

blade length 4.5in and 60rc Aus8? not bad, been wanting to see someone take a higher level HT to the Aus series, now just price and I think im good to go

Looks like another drop-point hunter like everybody's been making since Loveless started the trend. If I had to guess, blade is 3 3/4" to 4 1/4", handle about 4", overall length 7" and some change. Overall width about 1 1/4". I like that the blade stock seems to be a little thicker, maybe 3/16 instead of 1/8. China doesn't have an AISI equivalent so I would ask questions about what goes into their version of "AUS-8", if that tang stamp is claiming to be the steel type. Who knows, maybe the name of the knife maker is AUS-8...

Overall I like it; nice and clean, belly of the blade looks like it's constructed for harder use than some of the bird and trout knives that are calling themselves hunting knives. If I needed a glovebox knife, and the price was right (brets 20-30 from above post sounds good), I would give it another look. Problem is, I have access to a CNC cutter, and for about $40, plus the cost of steel, I could crank out fifty of the same thing for about the same price...

found some info about the knife:

AUS-8A (60HRC)
Total length: 230mm;
Blade length: 115mm;
Weight: 206g

Personally I think it looks really great.

It's just a drop-point hunting knife. It looks like a zillion other knives of the style. If someone comes in screaming "that's a copy!" they've got a lot of threads to do that in.

But I'll admit it looks pretty sleek.

Overall it looks like a good user in my opinion. Handle looks like Cocobolo , a hell of a lot better than the pakkawood crap some companies are trying to push on us.
I dont see why it couldn't be Aus8 , there are plenty of Chinese made knives from familiar brands that use Aus8.

From the pic the F&F looks clean , I spent last sunday examining several different knives from a company I shall not name whose products left a lot to be desired in the fit and finish department, considering they are not only American but charge a premium for their knives.

Tostig

I like the handle shape and F&f and but do not like the hollow grind. its retailing for about 39USD retail.

Blade Width : 3.3cm
Blade material : AUS-8A

A friend bought another chinese made knife and he likes it. They seem to make nicer knives with better F&F than before.

How much did you friend spend for the this knife ?

...not when you account for how little the average worker is paid (and other variable factors).

How much actual labor do you think actually goes in to making a knife these days?

Little secret - ALMOST NONE. Maintenance, machine setup and QC, that's it. There aren't lines and lines of Chinese workers hand-polishing these knives, it's all done on machine. Insurance, energy, taxes, materials and opportunity costs (what else could we be making with the machines if we weren't making knives?) are much bigger factors.

Please drop the "slave wage" stupidity.

40USD is kinda steep to me, and for that price i too would prefer something with a stronger grind, had they convexed that sucker like the svord and just put a small secondary v grind that could be taken off easily to be a true blue convex then id probably be all over that, but as it stands ill pass

Baldetalk - do you see any edc fixed blades similar to the Izula, bk14 etc? I wouldnt mind expanding that section of my knife collection

You may be misinterpreting my statement. I never said there are "lines and lines of Chinese workers hand-polishing knives," I simply stated (correctly) that the human workers involved are, almost always, paid much less than comparably employed workers here in the States.
Yes, there are other factors, which is why I said "and other variable factors."
Please don't call me stupid, and I won't call you names either.
