A new HIKV victim

@ WrongFriend: Vielen Dank!
Sorry, but my Japanese isn't half as good as your German - but to learn German just to be able to read "Perry Rhodan", well, that tells a lot (of good things) about your personality

Lots of those ( sci-fi ) fans in the Cantina too, I'd bet.

Yes, Perry Rhodan is still around here in Germany - although the number of its fans seems to dwindle.
Rusty, I’d guess that an affection for fine blades and sci-fi/fantasy are both expressions of a mind that is looking for a life, that is at least a little bit more adventurous than the normal “wake up - go to work - watch TV - go to bed” routine".
No wonder that there are possibly some Sci-Fi fans around here – I really like to fantasize about different ways of living when swinging a 50” broadsword

No, you "roundeyes" always get it wrong. Godzilla destroys Tokyo, Rhodan destroys Nagasaki, Mothera sprays silk, and Gamera spins like a top.

Seventy inch long broadsword? What!!!

And me own two-hander just a hair over 59 inches.

Sob, sniff, wahhaha...

Sorry Rusty, for making you jealous without any reason, sometimes late at night, my “internal metric converter” goes to bed before I do

Actually, it is only 51” (130 cm) long. Sorry about that, guess I’ve to edit that post. 70" would be be nearly as tall as I am, and a sword that long would only cause me a bad headache or put me in dire need for a good chiropractor

Tag, Anton.

1-578 of Perry Rhodan series have translated to Japanese now. Perry Rhodan came back from the Kapin's galaxy, found a whole mess with our galaxy. Though I learned Deutsch, I still cannot find how to get backnumbers of the series.

A 51 inch sword? It's too long for me even if it were a golf club with a carbon shaft! But recently I found ancient MA student had to achieve 2000 times of swinging 6 feet club of 300 lbs to be allowed to enter the class. Well, technology weakens us!

@WrongFriend: I have to ask a friend of mine about the Perry Rhodan thing. On the 51" sword: it weights only slightly more than 3 1/2 pounds (1.7 kg), so it's not that bad. But, I think I am overstressing this thread and I am waiting for my Chiruwa Ang Khola...

Postman, where are you?!

Anton is getting the only Chirwa I have left -- a WWII model and it's a honey.

Christmas sold us out of almost everything -- never seen one like this last one before and can't figure out why sales were so brisk this year for the first time. Traditionally, Christmas has been slow at HI. What happened?

Hey Uncle Bill, don't complain. Most of the retailers took a bath at christmas.

Maybe people were getting that knife just in case all the funky millenium stuff happend when the millenium really rolled.

Always looking forward to new things. I still think that a garud AK should be in my collection. Hmmmmm. Maybe it is time to make a model of one that I have had kicking 'round in my head for a while.

Uncle, it's only 30 pounds not 300 pounds. The difference makes it from impossible to... to ... only hard.

Anton, if you can ask your friend about Perry Rhodan, really appreciated. That many books of more than 2000 now, still increasing one per week, will give me much fun more than a score of years!
