A new idea!!

Looks good, when you get it how you want it, make me one and let me know. I'll send some $ your way. Keep up the good work.

Looks good. You could try bringing up the kydex higher. It would mean the sheath would take more material, but you could then bring the clip up higher, so the total package would sit down further in the pocket.

Here is kinda what I am talking about (in my own home made leather sheath pic, of course different clip entirely)

Although, I just realized, you are limited in where that clip sits, as you are reusing part of the old sheath. You would have to figure out a way to take just the clip, or make the "fold over" part actually hold the knife, them mate the original part higher with just the side bolts.

Very cool. I don't think the bulk will be an issue with this style carry. I've been carrying an rc3 like this for a bit now. It rides high, but that's the nature of the beast. Figure out the retension, and I think it'll be a good addition. There should be some cutout space on the clip if I recall correctly. Might not be able to give full shape to the backside, but possibly a partial mold back there.

What about giving the "flat side" a slight curve to "mold" more closely with the round-shape of your leg/hip? Is that something that might help?

I'm not really sure what the problem is you're trying to solve? Could you expand a littlebit on that..

It looks like a great sheet, but I'm not sure why you would want it to be so big?

Then I got nothin, looks good, box em up!

ETA:Could you do just the one side of kydex screwed straight to the bootclip without modding?

I'll try that, it might work.

Cool beans man. I'd like to see a pic of your kydex work area and tools some time.

Oh dear lord, the Mrs. calls it my cave, it's not a pretty place. Perhaps next time I clean it up I'll snap a pic or two.

i dig it! wether for pocket, boot or even belt carry i think it's a great setup!-fed

Thank you Bro!

shotgunner nice work what thickness of Kydex did you use? Looks good!!

I use .08 for everything. It's a nice middleground thickness that I can use for big and small alike.

Shotgunner, another thought I had that may or may not work. What if you didn't use the existing boot clip holes but relocated them in a way that made the whole setup narrower? For instance, the two bottom holes could be moved closer to the tip to bring them in some.

I was thinking about that but liked the idea of folks being able to switch the bootclip from the Izula sheath to the RC-3.

Feel free to mess around with the idea if you'd like. You might come up with something better than I did.

Alot of folks were wanting to have a boot clip for the Izula. I just figured that alot of people who have an Izula will also have a 3 so they could use the existing boot clip.

I thought you might say that. It makes sense to have a RAT clip that would swap from one to the other so I think you are on the right track in that regard.
