A new JK knife...The Tool.

Nice knife. I didn't know John does kydex. I totally need a kydex sheath for my improved bowie, and upcoming hawk. It's the only way I can put on a spyderco g-clip and carry as I see fit.

Wow,I didn't expect such a response for this one.
I'm sorry I haven't replied till now,I guess the weather got to me when I was out Saturday & haven't been 100%.
Thanks for all the good words guys. :)
John makes great users in many styles & yes...he does kydex also.
I'm glad I went with the Kydex because of all the rain Sat.,it would have soaked a leather sheath.
(I put the thumb push in the sheath with just a little heat & a sharpie to bend it over btw.)

Man, I was under the impression he just did leather...I totally wanted kydex so I could attach a g-clip and have better carry options. Sadly, I won't get much use out of this leather sheath, so it seems like kind of a waste.

Maybe I can just screw a spyderco g-clip into the leather sheath.

That is one fine looking knife. John made it even better looking than your sketch by straightening most of the drop out of the handle and going to the high scandi.

AMAZING JOB on designing the knife. It's absolutely gorgeous! Can't wait to get one of my own and use it for what it's designed to do, BUSHCRAFT! :)

Thanks for bringing this up from the depths Shaggy.
Check out my latest outing with the Tool here.
All the knife you'll need for life.:)

Since it's up: the Tool is a great design Mykel and one I have on my list to acquire in the short term.

This thread looks like you're on the Wet side but the DIY thread looks like the East side of the Cascades.

Ever have any rust issues with your 01 while on the west side? I keep a pretty solid patina on all of my 01 so haven't had any problems but I have a new one in 01 I want to leave all satiny. Not sure how it's going to like the wet weather but I live in the rainshadow so I may not have much trouble.

Sorry I'm late replying trestle.
I live just south of Seattle & store my knives in a Craftsman tool chest in my bedroom.
I don't put anything on the user blades & haven't had a problem with rust.
I just wipe them dry if they get wet or dirty & throw 'em in the drawer.
I do use Renaissance Wax on my safe queens.Great stuff for long term corrosion prevention.
