A New Knife from the new guy

Dave, Welcome to the world of BFC.

That knife is a gorgeous balance of design that is both practical & useful and artistically pleasing at the same time. The execution looks like it's pretty flawless as well. I especially like the flow of the handle and the warmth of the two woods chosen. However there is one thing about this knife that I really, Really, REALLY, REALLY don't like at all.

It ain't in my pocket. ;) :D :D

Congratulations on crafting a really sweet knife!!

Don't leave man! PLEASE! Threads such as the one you read aren't representative of this forum as a whole. Seriously, stick around a while and I think you'll come to like the place.

Welcome to the forums, and congratulations on making a stunning knife. Very original. The two tone woods are incredible, and the blade is a great useful design rarely seen in a folding variety.

Thanks again for the warm welcome and the great comments on my knife, it really helps a new knifemaker gain confidence and it makes me want to get back into the shop.

I think my timing was off when I first posted, there was another thread going with a heated battle and I got the wrong impression of this forum, I'm sorry for that. I now see there is a great group of people here.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, Dave

Dave,

What a beautifully executed folder! High-tech, yet rustic and cool all at the same time. Carbon steel - yes!

Seems to me like you have a definite style. Please post more pics in the future.

Dave

That is one sweet knife man!

I think my favorite part of it is the file work, in the first picture it looks like it goes all the way up the thumb ramp of the blade. If you have a picture of the file work with the blade open i'd love to see it! Please!

Thanks

Kurt, Geode, Thank you. It's pretty amazing how addicting this knifemaking can be, I can't wait to get going on my next knife but the bill paying thing keeps getting in the way.

lune2ne, Thank you. This is the second knife that I've used this filework pattern on and I know I need a lot more practice but with a lot more work I hope to someday come close to the filework artistry of Dwayne Dushane. That guy does some amazing work. Here you go showing the blade thumb ramp. I can't see it on the knife but now that I look at the picture it looks like I kind of lost it a bit. Do you think I shoud've tried to heat blue the ramp to blend better with the ti spine?
