A new light unto my world (pun intended)

It was a LONG day, but at 6:29pm EST, baby Isabella Sofia Crespo graced us with her lovely presence. I don't really have the energy or words to go on for too long, but I wanted to share my joy with you people. Thanks so much for your support and friendship...and for the great knives too, Jerry. :D

The torch is my new EDC, and it arrived today and was picked up by my MIL while she was at the house feeding our dogs and letting them out to do their business. The pic is a gift to the gentleman who sold me the torch.

Oh, and Fiskking...the 27 will be here soon. :D If you want one, and have the money, let me know because I might be able to get you one. ;)

Thanks for all the well-wishes, my friends. Right now the ladies are asleep. Natalie, having been awake for close to 48 hours straight, just got to sleep. I'm trying to keep the little one from fussing while checking in with y'all.

What a whirlwind. We show up at the hospital at 6am in order to break Nati's sack and start the process. By 9:30 everything is underway...

Wow...just changed my first diaper all alone while mama slept. :D

Anyway...at 930, Nati was 4cm. When the Doc came back at 1, she was still 4 and Doc told us that if she hadn't gotten to 7 by 5 when he returned, he was going to do a c-section.

Nati was VERY emotional and did NOT want to be cut, so when the nurse checked her at 4pm, and she was still only 5cm, we got worried.

When Doc arrived at 5 (okay, Bella just woke up wanting boob--had to hand her off) he knew we would prefer to wait, and advised us against causing the baby any possible distress. He checked her, Nati's delivery hinging on how dilated she was, and found she was 6cm. He told us we would go vaginally. 5 minutes later, he checked her again and she was already 8cm...and you know that Bella came at 6:29pm.

Man, I tell ya...the tension was fit for a MOAB

Sure enough, though, Bella came safe and sound, healthy and whole. She weighed in at 6.5lbs and reaches 18.5".

The Doc was great...and for that, there's a new XM-18 flipper on it's way to him, thanks to Matt D and Rick Hinderer himself.

And no...I did NOT use a knife to cut the cord, but if I had been able to, it would have been one of my XM's, which is all I have on me right now. Doc woulda loved a mistress, though. He's pretty tacticool. :D

+1 on the enjoy the crying post. They grow up so fast it will make your head spin. The only additional thing that I could add is make a point to have a little time for you and momma. It is hard with a new little one, but still very important. It is real easy to get caught up and overwhelmed with the added family member, but be sure to remember how you got this far.
