I butchered my first deer. I have two does to cut up so I practiced on the smaller one. I cut the backstraps out and made everything else into burger. I bought a DAC electric meat grinder at wall mart two years ago. I think I paid fifty dollars for it. I didnt expect much perfomance from it. Was I surprised. It ate meat up and spit it out faster than I could load it. The pieces had to be cut pretty small though. The machine ran smoothly and quietly, exceeding all expectations. Tomorrow Im tackling the big doe.

Its a 575 watt machine. I couldnt have been happier with its performance.

The one I bought was returned and a couple of parts were missing. They also had the blades in backwards. Thats why I got it so cheap.

2 deer is quite a bit of work for your first time butchering. Boning out the meat take some time.

Dipbait where do you live in Missouri? I live in the Min grove area.

mix some pork and spices in with your ground up venison and it mkae great sausage. Pat

I have one of these. Its all muscle powered and no need for electricity.
A real survival tool:).

These things are great!

I've been using the same on for most of my adult life, and it still cuts like it's brand new! Living in odd places in the world I discovered that if I wanted things like spicy hot Italian sausage while in Cambodia, or German Bratwurst when in the Philippines, I'd have to make it myself, and for the deer sausage and regular freshly ground meats there is nothing like it!

Frankly, I don't know why more people don't grind their own meat?!? It's not like it's hard to do...

I just got one of the hand grinders also lastnight at an auction. Thought it my come in handy for my deer as well.

It took less time than I expected. I had six sharp knives on hand. I went through four of them.
