The new toy came in from Burr King, placed the order while in Vegas while I was at the Shot Show and the LVCKS...nope did not even order a single 2 x 72 belt for it till yesterday, and not a single one to be found in Gangland either, at least this belt was in the box with it:D Got some cleaning and shop set up still left to do....

Wowzers. What a beauty. Can't wait to see a knife.

Dan has some extra belts.

We're expecting great things from you, young man.

NO matter how old I get, I can't get over the thrill of seeing a nifty mechanical devise. I must be sick.

How does that compare to other belt grinders?

After reading so much on belts the last few days I pretty much have decided to order a bunch then go with what works best for me...the 1st belt order was for Norton "Blaze" in 50, 60 and 80 grit next was 3M Trizact SF Gator Structured in 80, 240, and 400 and last Micron Aluminum Oxide 40 grit.

Munk, the reason I choose the B.K is because this is what I watched Bob Engnath use down in Glendale + I dont know anything about the other grinders and I just got tired of reading about them, it was like the Ford vs Chevy b.s...so I have no idea how it compares untill I buy another brand and use it next to this one....I am sure pro-makers here could say, I guess over in the Shop Talk area?

hey, move that thing out of the way, show the bikes :)

however, wonderful grinder... does it come with an instruction manual? i still have no clear idea how to safety use such a thing.

the papers it came with were the warranty paper to send in, letter of authenticity , 3 pgs of operator and operating area safety, 1pg of operating instructions which only have an overview and initial machine set-up along with more safety instructions, and 1 pg of standard equipment includes...also it came with the installation and operating instructions for the Model KBAC-24D ( I have a G.E.D not a Masters in Electronics..LOL)...pretty easy machine to figure out, but it did take me about 10 mins to figure out the platen attachment...was beat down tired with shop clean-up...took my wife 2 secs to point it out to me LOL, off to bed I went....having ground down skin and a finger nail (ouch still makes my skin crawl to think about that)on a grinder before I am taking NO noob learning chances with this machine, got my leather gloves with full kevlar inserts, full face shield and dust thingy for my beak

since my gallery is puplic you can see the scooters here http://www.pbase.com/bensweet/motorcycles&page=all I need to get some better photos in it this summer

That's pretty cool, Sweet. Most people look at that and see beautiful knives...i see a trip to the ER;) I'm too accident prone to have anything that cool:thumbup:

You should show it off in the makers section too. Them guys are cool too. Not as cooooool as us though. ;)

:p

Nice grinder!

You're gonna love the Variable Speed...

Burr King makes a very good grinder. Just a matter of personal preference.

Hope to be ordering some Blaze belts myself soon...

Steely_Gunz....I am accident prone big time! Heck I stabbed myself 2x with an Xacto knife last month sitting next to my wife (at least I did not stab her *g*) yep she took my Xacto away... with pain comes learning (I hope)

Dan...got her running tonight, that vari-speed is nice! such a quite machine I thought it would be louder. Now I just need to find a dust vacuum collector thingy for under the wheel.

Thanks everyone...if there is any interest I can post vids anytime to give you guys something to giggle...its like crack!

Nice machine. And am I the only one looking at the bike? I'm tempted to say gsx-r, because that's what I want it to be, but I suspect it's one of the naked bikes I don't know much about. I ride a zx-9r.

on the left is the 97' Suzuki TL1000s with a PCII and D&D (LOUD!) and on the right is a 00' Confederate R.E.L gt...above I posted a gallery link on the bikes which the more I look at it...it really needs better pics:rolleyes:

Dang Sweet, that's one hoss of a belt grinder. Two and a half words, "Git 'er done". :D

You'll want to at least get a couple of old sheets to cover the bikes up Sweet...trust me! Grind dust will start to rust the minute you make it and it's infectious. Particles settling on the scoots will make freckles overnight.

BTW...I've never used gloves with power tools...they snag and pull you into the tool and you can't feel heat in the blade. Remember that the *edge* of the belts is what will get you the worst...the face will just grind a bit of skin off and you will pull away, but the edge will cut to the bone (and beyond) in a heartbeat.
