A New Noob..watchitfingers! 1 teasepic

Thanks for the info, Sweet. It sure towers over my baby Delta....

Here are two gems:

<<< cover the bikes up Sweet...trust me! Grind dust will start to rust the minute you make it and it's infectious. Particles settling on the scoots will make freckles overnight.>>>>> Nasty

That is very interesting and makes perfect sense. The little peices are hot, cool as they fly and develope moisture film, then rust and become disease agents!!!! Wow. I love learning in this place.

<<<<the face will just grind a bit of skin off and you will pull away, but the edge will cut to the bone (and beyond) in a heartbeat>>>> Nasty

And this is just good sense.

One more gem from Nasty: the concept- 'beyond the bone'

Thanks Nasty! I move the bikes next to the LSB, I did not think of the dust only thought of having steel thrown out of my hands and as Murphy has it with me that metal would hit both bikes then bounce off the ground to hit both bikes again and IF someone was over watching that steel would then bounce into my windshield of my LSB (Murphy is in love with me) I do need to get new covers for both of them again which will still go on when I work then off when I am done grinding. The gloves are just used till I get comfortable with this new machine + I don't need the wife saying something goofy like "already?":D  :D ahh got to find wall socket covers for 1 of the electrical plugs that is next to the machine (hehe I am +1 up on Murphy! LOL)

Sweet?

Consider a separate shed for the bikes, maybe a lean-to or something like that. Even if it doesn't rust, you'd be amazed at the abrasive capacity of steel dust. Amazed. Heck, maybe even a tent outside the garage for the bikes.

'Cuz sure as hell, someday, you're just gonna "be a second and then come back and protect the bike," and the ubiquitous, forever-seeking, and life-empowered metal dust will sneak up and bite you on the ... er...bike finish.

Someday, start showing us your metal work projects, ok?

Here is #1 not done by far, I need to mess it up a bunch more and do a better tip...tried to do a hollow grind only on 1 side:rolleyes:
