A New "OLD SCHOOL" thread

The cell on the bottom knife is a beige waterfall, Glenn, and I'll watch for your moniker when I'm looking at Schrades on Ebay!

Okay,

Here is one that I just picked up.

It was listed as a salesman's sample. The seller is a quality seller, that has had a good vein of pristine schrades for sale lately. I got it for a good price. It is a nice example of the tortoise shell cell.

Nice one, Glenn! Great find.

My contribution: Gold Imperial lobsters in the original 'Anson' gift boxes. Was a price tag on one for $35.

Man, those are nice!

There are no treasures like that around here...:(

Glenn

Phil has so many nice knives, that we can plainly see he just has them sitting around on the floor. :D

Bill

He probably has no room to walk around in his house.

Send them here, I feel your pain, and have plenty of room. ;)

Glenn

Ya know what they say...

Go Big or go home...:D

Here's another little beauty:

M7934GPT.jpg

I think this might be a "tweener". It says Schrade Walden, but there is no pattern number. I attempted to ID it with the SCC catalog, and got a good match. A tiny little thing at 2 1/2" closed. I think it is a M7934GPT. "M" for the flexible manicure nail file, "7934" for the 2 blade senator with cell handles, and I think it is Golden Pearl cell, so that is the "GP". "T" for tipped bolsters, of course.

That's my guess, anyway. Enjoy..

Glenn

Nice "tweener" Glenn! Still learning the jargon, but I guess that's a transition period knife between SCC and S-W! I've posted about all my SCC's, (see Larry's site) so here are some Waldens, some of which you Ebayers will recognize from recent times. My budget from selling some other (non-Schrade of course) knives is rapidly disappearing, so my posting will slow right down soon :( !

Very nice! You never know just where the Wonda-Edge serrated (Schrade called "Scalloped") blades will turn up. They were first listed in the catalogs in 1957 on the 145WE,147LWE and 148LWE rigid blades, 293WE 3 7/8" Serpentine two blade Jack. In 1959, they added the H-15WE and listed it thru 1964. I never found the 137LWE listed, but I have one. None of the Wonda-Edge knives were listed after the mid sixties. But... we know the 89OT had the serrated blade. I did not find the rope/hawser knife listed with the Wonda-Edge, but they obviously made it! Trademark #72023627 02/11/1958 was the WONDA-EDGE mark.

Codger, is there anything about Schrades you DON'T know??
'course if you knew that you'd know it---or something;;;;
Buh dee-ah, buh dee-ah that's all folks   :D

Like yourself, I am learning more every day. I don't post this stuff to show off. I post it to share. Information up til now has been so sparse, that I feel like every bit of information that we can add here is a milestone, and adds to the individual collector's knowledge base both now, and through the archives, well into the future. Does anyone else have a Wonda-Edge knife that I have missed noting?
