Here is a new knife that I profiled out last year in December. I had some time this weekend and decided to knock it out. It's out of 1084, black canvass micarta and SS pins. Tell me what you think? Thanks

Workmanship looks OK. Design and shaping needs some work.

The handle and the blade look like they going at opposite directions to each other curve-wise. There should be a very slight continuous curve from butt to tip. The biggest problem with this one is the "Bump" in the spine. I know you think you need that thumb rest, but I guarantee you that you will not miss it if you make the next one without it. Other than that the blade shape and the handle shape are OK.

The ricasso is a bit too long. On the next one make it so it is only about 3/4 that distance from handle to plunge. I think you will like the change in the look.

These and any other changes should be made on paper in drawings before you cut the next piece of steel. Post the drawings here and let the folks see your plans. Erasers are much more efficient than files and saws.

Thanks for all,the good feedback. Your right on the thumb rest. The more I look at it the more I hate it. On the next one I will be sure to post some drawings first and go from there. Thanks again.
