I am among one of the many who agree that things are a little wild over here.
I don't think that's a bad thing, but since there is some concern about getting away from the serious discussion of Busse knives, that we:
1) KEEP this forum exactly as is.
2) Dedicate the home forum to less off topic stuff and more about the KNIVES! KNIVES! KNIVES!..... BUT I mean this in a casual manner. We'll just keep it as a mutual understanding among ourselves.

Yes, Walking Man I agree 100%. But a real concern is this Zardoz business - it seems to take up an inordinate amount of time on this forum and apparently the moderators are concerned too because they have deleted many pictures. What are we to do about Zardoz.? :confused: I personally think this Zardoz is attracting too many diaper fetishers who should not be here. What is the solution - any help here? :confused:
 
What I don't understand is how it is that it is more appealing to
--post MAJORLY non-knife or non-forum member related stuff here,
--post pictures that belong in the Cove or some other juvenile-level area,
--continue to post potentially offensive pics that have been deleted time and time again, and
--continue to make inflammatory statements about other cultures, makers, and companies,

than it is to discuss Busse knives, models, characteristics, handling findings, collection additions, use/abuse expereiences, and many other aspects of the Busse brand.

I just don't get it....:confused:

What a lot of you don't see are the complaints I get about the pictures and sometimes the language used here. It has caused some people to stop frequenting this forum, despite attempts to edit things to a more acceptable level.

Evidently, some posters don't get it either....
 
EVERY time I try to make a suggestion in good faith, I get slapped, and my intentions are questioned. I just wanted to make myself absolutely clear this time.
I know it's kind of fun to make fun of me for using the word "huffy", but I think we've all see folks get unduly bent out of shape around here. (myself included)
But forget about it..... Let's get back on topic!
 
Everything I have ever done was in the spirit of fun.

My Zed has Busse content, but I will not post him anymore if it is that big of a deal
 
yeh, i see some and do some goofy stuff here too.

but i for one like to see our members family pics of where they live and how they play including the knife pictures.

stanley the dog, dark lemur, etc., most of us hunt, shoot, picnic, 4 wheel, raft, boat, climb, smoke, drink, have babies, kids, make survival stuff and it's nice to share in your hobbies.

i think family pictures bring forum members together in to the "busse family"

i can even except cobalts uncle zardoz and sister. really the only reason it gets posted is because of the continuing comments. if it were ignored it would go away in a couple of days.

zardoz was just a movie... and a dmned good one at that ;)
 
The worst part is. I personally find many of the pics, and many posts, hilarious...:eek:

And Zardoz was one of Sean's slump films, the original "jump the shark" IMHO, but it is just hard to 'splain" to some peoples kids, who happen to be reading along with their parent, why there are posts like there are....

Having fun is not the issue, IMHO, it is tact and taste.....

Maybe Jerry ought to create new subforum on his homepage, and call it:

I don't really think that idea will be considered, but it would be fun!
 
ok so I am a piglet and my opinion doesn't mean squat but personally I like coming here for the knives, the BS (there is a lot) and the the general fun atmosphere. "jump the shark" well if that is his opinion then so be it, it is a free world. Life is much to complicated to worry about too many thing.

Don't sweat petty things and don't pet sweaty things.

lmao, if we did that i think we would all move over there, i love to laugh and this is "my newspaper" i'll probably live ten years longer than most because of the good humor and laughs i get here.

don't get me wrong, i think crude stuff sucks and there are ladies present. but i really have never seen any bare boobs or bush or any really nasty stuff.

i'm always to late as hammy beats me to the post.

here's my take and i'm being serious

if we only talk "knife talk", stay on track and be totally technical then i personally think it would get dull and boring. i try (don't always make it) to post knives in my pics. like the pipe thing, some of us smoke pipes, jerry, me, others... so why not post some pretty briar with a piece of infi? or the taste of a different scotch..

i have never been to Australia but my life is much richer looking at the forum members posting from down there.

point is that there will always be a "line" some place where we step over and there is no knife content. i think that's OK as long as it offends few people. few i say as even if we talk only knives we still offend somebody on this forum

it has been a lil crazy the last couple of months and only a couple of months, i think some of it's boredom and some of it's

It seems that there recently has been a large amount of posts and/or threads about how we should manage ourselves here, and how we may be off topic too much. It seems that there are real concerns as to the pics and language posted here as well. But, I can honestly say that I have not seen a single thing that I could not explain to any of my children. If they happen to be paying attention or care to look at where I tread, then, as a more than competent parent, I am absolutely capable of explaining things to them.

As far as staying on topic, I have said before, I came because of the knives and I stayed because of the people.
