A NEW SHERIFF in town! My Kershw BLUR

That's a nice knife, but I'm scared of the AO knives that only have thumb-studs and no "flipper". The risk of cutting my thumb with those is just too great, as my thumb always want to follow the quick-opening blade when started via the thumb-stud...(I've done that twice...Ouch! Ouch!.).

I know...I'm a klutz when it comes to getting kut by sharp, shiney objects.:D.:D.

But seriously...For some weird reason, it's really a "turkey-shoot" as to if I'll kut my thumb or not when I'm using thumb-studs to open AO knives. My thumb seems to like the challenge to try to match the speed of the blade flying open via the activated AO torsion bar...But, when opening an AO knife via the "flipper lever" that's part of the hand-guard of the blade, my thumb has no part in it, and my index finger is too lazy to try to follow the rapidly-opening blade.:D.:D.

He needs to start ordering from NGK...that way, he'll have a bunch of Band-aids when needed! And from what I've gathered from reading these threads, he needs a bunch!:D

Classic sig material right there!

FWIW, This is pretty much the only reason I've not yet got a Blur... :o

I haven't been bitten, but the few times I've held one "in store", it seems much more likely (than when using an index flipper).

Cheers,
