Hi Ted, just to let you know I'm still very pleased with my Al Mar Hawk, which just happens to have briarwood inserts:

One thing I did to it was give it several coats of tung oil that really brought out the depth of the grain. The pictures in the above thread were taken before oiling. The wood on the knife was untreated and still looked beautiful but a little oil rubbed in and wow!

...I've got plenty of Spyderco's, so I'm looking for something different.

No harm in that, but if you haven't handled one of the Kopas yet, check 'em out. Great little knife, well built and downright pretty.

I've said it before, and I'll keep on saying it. MOKI makes some of the best knives, period!

I've handled plenty of Kopa's but I don't like the small 'neck' and open clip. They are very well made though...

The Al Mar Hawk is still on top of the list.
